A tropical air mass will linger through this weekend into next week. Thunderstorms each afternoon and evening will feature the potential for torrential downpours and frequent lightning, but most storms will stay below severe levels.
THIS EVENING
A trough will slowly sink through the region with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Severe thunderstorms will threaten areas along and west of the I-95 corridor, with torrential downpours, frequent lightning, wind gusts between 30 and 70 mph, and small hail. Otherwise, muggy conditions will continue with winds from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph. Temperatures will fall into the 80s and 70s throughout the region.

A stalled cold front will produce areas of low clouds, fog, and isolated showers. Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 10 mph. Low temperatures will range from the upper 60s to the lower 70s over the interior and from the lower to mid-70s along the coast.
