The heatwave will break with waves of showers and thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall and areas of flash flooding tonight through Tuesday.  Rainfall amounts over 2″ are likely for much of the region.

TODAY

A cold front will slowly stall over the region with variable clouds, isolated showers, and isolated thunderstorms.  The thunderstorms will produce heavy downpours, frequent lightning, and wind gusts over 40 mph.  Winds will veer to the northeast at 5 mph.  High temperatures will range from the upper 70s to the lower 80s over the interior, the lower to mid-80s along the coast, mid to upper 80s in the New York City metropolitan area, and upper 80s to lower 90s in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

TONIGHT

A stationary front and waves of low pressure will produce overcast skies, showers, and thunderstorms.  Winds will be from the east at 5 to 10 mph.  Low temperatures will range from the mid to upper 60s over the interior and suburbs, and from the upper 60s to the lower 70s in urban areas.

TOMORROW

A stationary front and waves of low pressure will produce overcast skies, showers, and thunderstorms.  Winds will be from the east at 5 to 10 mph.  High temperatures will range from the lower to mid-70s over the interior and coast, and from the upper 70s to the lower 80s on the I-95 corridor.

An area of low pressure will approach the region with waves of showers and thunderstorms.  Low temperatures will range from the mid- to upper 60s over the interior and from the upper 60s to the lower 70s along the coast.  High temperatures will range from the mid to upper 70s on Long Island, upper 70s to lower 80s in the New York City metropolitan area and interior, and mid to upper 80s in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

SATURDAY

A trough will produce scattered clouds and isolated showers.  Low temperatures will range from the upper 60s to the lower 70s.  High temperatures will range from the upper 70s to the lower 80s over the interior and from the mid to upper 80s along the coast.

SUNDAY
