Waves of arctic air will continue to surge into the region with one of the coldest periods of the winter so far.  Dangerous wind chills pose a high risk of frostbite and hypothermia.  Snow showers remain a threat for some along the immediate coast and Long Island this weekend.

TODAY

High pressure will produce scattered clouds and a few flurries. Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  High temperatures will range from the single digits to the lower 10s over the interior and lower to mid-10s along the coast.

TONIGHT

High pressure will produce scattered clouds and a few flurries. Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Low temperatures will range from the teens below zero to the single digits.

TOMORROW

High pressure will produce scattered clouds. Winds from the north at 5 to 15 mph.  High temperatures will range from the lower to mid-10s over the interior and mid to upper 10s along the coast.

TOMORROW NIGHT

High pressure will exit the region with scattered clouds.  Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Low temperatures will range from the single digits below zero to single digits over the interior, single digits to lower 10s in the suburbs, and lower to mid-10s along the coast.

SUNDAY

An area of low pressure will pass to the southeast of the region with scattered clouds over the interior, isolated snow showers along and northwest of the I-95 corridor, and scattered snow showers southeast of the I-95 corridor.  Winds will be from the northwest at 10 to 20 mph for most of the region, 15 to 30 mph with gusts over 40 mph along the coast.  High temperatures will range from the lower to mid-10s over the interior and upper 10s to lower 20s along the coast.

High pressure will produce scattered clouds.  Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Low temperatures will range from the single digits to mid-10s.  High temperatures will range from the upper 10s to mid-20s.

TUESDAY

High pressure will produce scattered clouds. Low temperatures will range from the single digits to mid-10s.  High temperatures will range from the upper 10s to mid-20s.

WEDNESDAY

High pressure will produce scattered clouds. Low temperatures will range from the single digits to mid-10s.  High temperatures will range from the upper 10s to mid-20s.

THURSDAY

An area of low pressure will pass to the south with scattered snow showers.  Low temperatures will range from the single digits to mid-10s.  High temperatures will range from the upper 10s to mid-20s.

FRIDAY

High pressure will produce scattered clouds.  Low temperatures will range from the single digits to the lower 10s.  High temperatures will range from the upper 10s to lower 20s.
