Waves of Arctic air will return by tonight and continue through next week, while a major winter storm becomes a threat Sunday morning through Monday morning.
TODAY
A cold front will move through the region with scattered clouds. Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph. High temperatures will range from the mid-30s over the interior, upper 30s to lower 40s northwest of the I-95 corridor, and mid-40s along and east of the I-95 corridor.
TONIGHT
A trough will produce scattered clouds. Winds will be from the west at 5 to 15 mph. Low temperatures will range from the lower to mid-10s over the interior, mid to upper 10s in the suburbs, and lower to mid-20s in urban areas and along the coast.
TOMORROW
High pressure will build into the region with clear skies. Winds will be from the west at 5 to 15 mph. High temperatures will range from the lower to mid-20s over the interior, upper 20s to lower 30s in the New York City metropolitan area, and mid to upper 30s in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

An area of low pressure will produce periods of snow, heavy at times. A wintry mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain will be a threat in southern Long Island, central coastal New Jersey, and southern New Jersey. Winds will be from the northeast at 10 to 20 mph. Low temperatures will range from the single digits over the interior and lower to mid-10s along the coast. High temperatures will range from the mid-10s to the lower 20s over the interior, lower to mid-20s northwest of the I-95 corridor, mid-20s to lower 30s along the I-95 corridor, and mid-30s along the central and southern New Jersey coast.
MONDAY
An area of low pressure will depart with morning snow, followed by scattered snow showers. Low temperatures will range from the mid to upper 10s over the interior and lower to mid-20s along the coast. High temperatures will range from the upper 10s to lower 20s over the interior, mid to upper 20s along the I-95 corridor, and upper 20s to the lower 30s along the coast.
