Skies will clear by this evening as a winter storm exits the region.  Showers return tomorrow afternoon and evening with much warmer conditions.  An unsettled, chilly weather pattern returns into the New Year.

TODAY

The area of low pressure will exit the region with the wintry precipitation changing over to snow before ending by noon.  Winds will back to the northeast at 5 to 15 mph.  High temperatures will be in the upper 20s to lower 30s over the interior and the New York City metropolitan area, and in the lower to mid-30s in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

TONIGHT

High pressure will be in control with scattered cloud cover.  Winds will be from the north at 1 to 5 mph.  Low temperatures will range from the mid to upper 10s over the interior, upper 10s to lower 20s in the suburbs, and lower to mid-20s in urban areas.

TOMORROW

A warm front will produce scattered showers in the afternoon.  Some freezing drizzle will be possible.  Winds will veer to the south at 1 to 5 mph.  High temperatures will range from the mid to upper 30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast.

TOMORROW NIGHT

Overcast skies and scattered showers are expected.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Low temperatures will range from the mid to upper 30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast.

MONDAY

A cold front will move through the region with scattered showers.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  High temperatures will range from the upper 40s to lower 50s over the interior, lower to mid-50s in the New York City metropolitan area, and mid to upper 50s in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

TUESDAY

High pressure will produce clear skies.  Low temperatures will range from the lower to mid-20s over the interior and mid to upper 20s along the coast.  High temperatures will range from the mid to upper 20s over the interior and upper 20s to lower 30s along the coast.

WEDNESDAY: NEW YEAR’S EVE

A trough will produce scattered clouds and flurries.  Low temperatures will range from the lower to mid-10s over the interior and upper 10s to lower 20s along the coast.  High temperatures will range from the lower to mid-20s over the interior and upper 20s to lower 30s along the coast.

SATURDAY

High pressure will produce clear skies.  Low temperatures will range from the single digits to the lower 10s over the interior and mid to upper 10s along the coast.  High temperatures will range from the upper 20s to the lower 30s over the interior, lower to mid-30s in the New York City metropolitan area, and mid to upper 30s in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
