Summer-like weather conditions are expected today.  A cold front will end these pleasant conditions with showers and thunderstorms tonight through tomorrow.

AIR QUALITY: 

Due to a forest fire in Ocean County, New Jersey, air quality over eastern New Jersey and southeastern New York will continue to be poor with pollutants of fine particles from the fire.  

TODAY

High pressure will exit the region with increasing clouds.  Winds will be from the southeast at 5 to 10 mph.  High temperatures will range from the mid-60s to the lower 70s on Long Island, mid to upper 70s along the coast, upper 70s to lower 80s in the Delaware River Valley, and mid to upper 70s over the interior.

TONIGHT

A cold front will approach the region with increasing clouds along with scattered showers and thunderstorms.  Winds will be from the south at 5 to 15 mph. Low temperatures will range from the lower to mid-50s over the interior, lower to mid-50s in the suburbs, and upper 50s to lower 60s in urban areas.

TOMORROW

A cold front will produce showers and thunderstorms through the evening.  The thunderstorms will be capable of heavy downpours, frequent lightning, hail, and wind gusts up to 55 mph.  Winds will veer to the west at 10 to 15 mph.  High temperatures will range from the lower to mid-60s on Long Island, upper 60s to lower 70s along the coast, mid to upper 70s in the Delaware River Valley, and lower to mid-70s over the interior.

TOMORROW NIGHT

High pressure will build into the region with clearing skies.  Winds will veer to the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Low temperatures will range from the lower to mid-40s.

SUNDAY

High pressure will produce scattered clouds.  Winds will be from the northwest at 10 to 20 mph.  High temperatures will range from the upper 40s to mid-50s over the interior, upper 50s to lower 60s in the Delaware River Valley, and mid to upper 50s along the coast.

MONDAY

High pressure will produce scattered clouds.  Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Low temperatures will range from the upper 30s to the lower 40s over the interior and mid to upper 40s along the coast.  High temperatures will range from the mid to upper 60s over the interior and upper 60s to lower 70s along the coast.

FRIDAY

An area of low pressure will produce waves of showers and thunderstorms.  Low temperatures will range from the mid to upper 40s over the interior and upper 40s to lower 50s along the coast.  High temperatures will range from the lower to mid-60s on Long Island, upper 60s to lower 70s along the coast, lower to mid-70s in the Delaware River Valley, and lower to upper 60s over the interior.
