A cold front will produce periods of showers today.  An invading arctic air mass and area of low pressure will produce a winter storm tomorrow.  An arctic blast follows next week.

TODAY

An arctic cold front will approach the region with rain and snow showers by the afternoon.  Winds will veer from the southwest to the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  High temperatures will range from the mid-30s over the interior, upper 30s to lower 40s in the Delaware River Valley, and lower to mid-40s along the coast.

TONIGHT

Cloudy skies are expected, with a few flurries possible.  Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 10 mph.  Low temperatures will range from the upper 10s to lower 20s over the interior and mid to upper 20s along the coast.

TOMORROW

The arctic cold front will press off the coast in the morning with scattered rain/snow showers.  An area of low pressure will develop over the coastal waters with periods of moderate to heavy snowfall in the afternoon and evening to the northwest of I-95 and a wintery mix changing to snow along and southeast of I-95.  Accumulating snowfall is likely throughout the region.  See the impact map for details.  Winds will veer to the north at 5 to 10 mph.  High temperatures will range from the lower to mid-20s over the interior, upper 20s to lower 30s in the Delaware River Valley, and mid to upper 30s along the coast.

TOMORROW NIGHT

Periods of snow will taper off with clearing skies towards morning.  Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Low temperatures will range from the single digits over the interior and lower to mid-10s along the coast.

MONDAY

The low-pressure system will depart with lingering snow flurries and scattered clouds. Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  High temperatures will range from the mid to upper 10s over the interior and lower to mid-20s along the coast.

TUESDAY

A series of troughs will produce scattered clouds and flurries.  Winds will be from the west at 5 to 10 mph.  Low temperatures will range from the -10s to -0 over the interior and 0s along the coast.  High temperatures will range from the single digits over the interior and lower to mid-10s along the coast.
