The cold but tranquil conditions are expected to turn stormier with an arctic blast and snowfall by the end of the weekend.

TONIGHT

High pressure will produce scattered clouds.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Low temperatures will fall into the single digits to lower 10s over the interior, mid to upper 10s in the suburbs, and upper 10s to lower 20s in urban areas and along the coast.

TOMORROW

A weak, warm front will move through the region with a few scattered snow showers.  A dusting of snow will be possible.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  High temperatures will range from the lower to mid-20s over the interior and upper 20s to lower 30s along the coast.

TOMORROW NIGHT

High pressure will build into the region with clearing skies.  Winds will veer to the west at 5 to 10 mph.  Low temperatures will fall into the upper 10s to lower 20s over the interior and lower to mid-20s along the coast.

FRIDAY

High pressure will exit the region with increasing clouds.  Winds will be from the west at 5 to 10 mph.  High pressure will rise into the lower to mid-30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast.

SATURDAY

An arctic cold front will approach the region with rain and snow showers by the afternoon.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Low temperatures will range from the mid to upper 20s over the interior and upper 20s to lower 30s along the coast.  High temperatures will range from the mid-30s over the interior, upper 30s to lower 40s in the Delaware River Valley, and lower to mid-40s along the coast.

SUNDAY

The arctic cold front will press off the coast in the morning with scattered rain/snow showers.  An area of low pressure will develop over the coastal waters with periods of light to moderate snowfall in the afternoon and evening.  Low temperatures will range from the lower to mid-20s over the interior and upper 20s to lower 30s along the coast.  High temperatures will range from the mid-20s to the lower 30s over the interior, mid to upper 30s in the Delaware River Valley, and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast.  At the onset of precipitation, temperatures will rapidly fall into the 20s and 10s in the evening.

MONDAY

An area of low pressure will produce periods of accumulating snowfall in the early morning, followed by clearing skies.  Low temperatures will range from the single digits over the interior and lower to mid-10s along the coast.  High temperatures will range from the lower to mid-10s over the interior and upper 10s to lower 20s along the coast.

TUESDAY

A series of troughs will produce scattered clouds and flurries.  Windy conditions are expected.  Low temperatures will range from single digits below zero to single digits above zero.  High temperatures will range from the single digits over the interior and lower to mid-10s along the coast.

WEDNESDAY
