Thunderstorms will produce a stormy end to a muggy day, but excellent weather conditions return for the Father’s Day Weekend!

TODAY

Areas of low clouds can be expected in the morning, followed by scattered clouds towards noon.  A cold front will produce scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.  The thunderstorms will be capable of heavy downpours, frequent lightning, hail, and wind gusts over 40 mph.  The strongest thunderstorms are expected to be in the Poconos, Catskills, Hudson River Valley, and Hudson Highlands from 2 PM through 6 PM.  The thunderstorms will push towards the coast from 5 PM to 10 PM while weakening.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-80s over the interior, upper 80s to lower 90s in the Delaware River Valley, lower to mid-80s along the coast, and upper 70s to lower 80s on Long Island for highs.

TONIGHT

The cold front will exit with lingering showers and thunderstorms through midnight, followed by clearing skies towards morning.  Winds will veer to the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the mid to upper-50s over the interior and lower to mid-60s along the coast for lows.

TOMORROW

High pressure will build into the region with clearing skies.  Winds will veer to the north at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 70s over the interior and lower to mid-80s along the coast for highs.

TOMORROW NIGHT

High pressure will produce scattered clouds.  Winds will be from the north at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the upper 40s to lower 50s over the interior and mid to upper 50s along the coast for lows.

SUNDAY

High pressure will produce scattered clouds.  Winds will be from the north at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-70s on Long Island, upper 70s to lower 80s along the coast, lower to mid-80s in the Delaware River Valley and mid to upper 70s over the interior for highs.

Temperatures will range from the mid to upper 60s over the interior and upper 60s to lower 70s along the coast for lows and mid-70s to lower 80s on Long Island, mid to upper 80s along the coast, and lower to mid-90s away from the coast for highs.

THURSDAY

High pressure will produce areas of fog in the morning, followed by scattered clouds in the afternoon and isolated thunderstorms.
