Temperatures will rise into the upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior, lower to mid-40s along the coast, and mid to upper 40s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.
THURSDAY
The low-pressure system will slowly lift from the coastal waters of Long Island to the Gulf of Maine, with rainfall tapering to showers for most of the region. However, with cold air pushing south from the Great Lakes, the rain will mix with sleet and snow in the Poconos, Catskills, and Hudson Highlands, with some snow accumulation for elevations above 1,500 feet on cold surfaces. Winds will back from the northeast to the west at 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-30s over the interior and mid to upper 30s along the coast for lows and mid to upper 30s over the interior, lower to mid-40s in the New York City metropolitan area, and upper 40s to lower 50s in the Philadelphia metropolitan area for highs.
