A developing coastal storm will continue to lift toward New England, with heavy rainfall exiting from southwest to northeast.  A shift to warmer and more tranquil weather pattern is on the way, just during the week once again.

TODAY

An intensifying coastal low-pressure system will lift towards New England with steady rainfall lifting through central and northern New Jersey through southeastern New York and Long Island.  Scattered showers will linger over eastern Pennsylvania and the rest of New Jersey.  Winds will back to the west at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 50s over the interior and lower to mid-60s along the coast for highs.

TONIGHT

As the area of low pressure lifts into the Gulf of Maine, variable clouds and scattered showers will linger over the region.  Winds will be from the west, increasing to 10 to 20 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the lower to mid-40s over the interior and upper 40s to lower 50s along the coast for lows.

TOMORROW

A series of troughs of low-pressure will pass through the region with widely scattered showers in the morning followed by clearing skies.  Winds will be from the west at 10 to 20 mph, with gusts over 25 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 40s to lower 50s over the interior and mid to upper 50s along the coast for highs.

TOMORROW NIGHT

High pressure will build into the region with clearing skies.  Winds will veer to the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the mid-30s to lower 40s over the interior and mid to upper 40s along the coast for lows.

MONDAY

High pressure will produce clear skies and scattered clouds.  Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-50s over the interior and upper 50s to lower 60s along the coast for highs.

TUESDAY

High pressure will produce clear skies and scattered clouds.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-40s for lows and lower to mid-60s for highs.

WEDNESDAY

High pressure will produce clear skies and scattered clouds.  Temperatures will range from the mid-40s to lower 50s for lows and mid-60s to lower 70s for highs.
