The remnants of Ophelia will bring periods of rain for many parts of the region with heavy downpours a threat through tomorrow morning.  Improving conditions return by Wednesday.

TODAY

The remnants of Ophelia will approach the region with overcast skies and periods of showers capable of heavy downpours.  Steady rainfall will move from eastern Pennsylvania through central and northern New Jersey towards evening.  Winds will be from the northeast at 10 to 20 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 50s to lower 60s over the interior and mid to upper 60s along the coast for highs.

TONIGHT

The remnants of Ophelia will pass through the region with periods of rain, heavy at times over northern New Jersey, southeastern New York, and Connecticut with scattered showers elsewhere.  Winds will back to the north at 10 to 20 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 50s over the interior and upper 50s to lower 60s along the coast for lows.

TOMORROW

The low pressure system will exit the region with periods of rain in Connecticut and Long Island giving way to scattered showers.  Scattered showers will be found throughout the rest of the region.  Winds will be from the north at 10 to 20 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-60s for highs.

TOMORROW NIGHT

A trough will linger over the region with scattered clouds and widely scattered showers.  Winds will be from the northeast at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperature will fall into the lower to mid-50s over the interior and upper 50s to lower 60s along the coast for lows.

TUESDAY

A trough will linger over the region with scattered clouds and isolated showers.  Winds will be from the northeast at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-60s for highs.

WEDNESDAY

High pressure will build into the region with clearing skies.  Winds will be from the northeast at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will range from the mid to upper 40s over the interior and lower to mid-50s along the coast for lows and mid to upper 60s for highs.

THURSDAY

High pressure will produce clear skies to scattered clouds.  Temperatures will range from the mid to upper 40s over the interior and lower to mid-50s along the coast for lows and mid to upper 60s over the interior and upper 60s to lower 70s along the coast for highs.

FRIDAY

An area of low pressure will develop along the Mid-Atlantic coast with scattered clouds over the interior and scattered showers along the coast.  Temperatures will range from the upper 40s to lower 50s over the interior and mid-50s to lower 60s along the coast for lows and mid to upper 60s for highs.

SATURDAY

An area of low pressure will produce periods of rain along the coast and scattered showers over the interior.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-50s over the interior and upper 50s to lower 60s along the coast and mid to upper 60s for highs.

SUNDAY

The area of low pressure will depart the region with lingering showers in the morning followed by clearing skies.  Temperatures will range from the upper 40s to lower 50s over the interior and lower to mid-50s along the coast for lows and lower to mid-70s for highs.
