
High pressure will provide tranquil conditions to close out the weekend. Then, a series of low pressure systems will likely bring multiple rounds of precipitation in addition to unseasonably warm temperatures.
TODAY
High pressure positioned off the east coast will produce scattered cloud cover, with winds increasing from the south at 5 to 15 mph. Temperatures will rise into the low to mid-40s over the interior and upper 40s to lower 50s along the coast and in the Delaware River Valley by this afternoon.
TONIGHT
A cold front approaching from the northwest will increase clouds. Patchy fog may develop as temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 30s over the interior and lower to mid-40s along the coast, with winds from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.
TOMORROW
Cloudy skies earlier will become partly cloudy later on. Winds will veer to the west at 5 to 15 mph. Temperatures will rise into the upper 40s to lower 50s over the interior and mid to upper 50s along the coast and in the Delaware River Valley.
TOMORROW NIGHT
A cold front will move through the region bringing increased cloud cover and the chance for overnight scattered rain showers. Temperatures will fall into the low to mid 30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast and for the Delaware River Valley. Winds light and variable.
TUESDAY
A stalled cold front and waves of low pressure will produce mostly cloudy skies and a chance for scattered rain showers. Winds from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph. High temperatures will range from the mid to upper 40s over the interior, upper 40s to lower 50s in the New York City metropolitan area, and mid-50s to lower 60s in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
WEDNESDAY
A strong area of low pressure will produce increasing cloud cover throughout the day, followed by periods of rain for much of the region and a wintry mix of snow, sleet, and rain for the Poconos and Catskills into the overnight hours. Low temperatures will range from the mid to upper 20s over the interior and lower to mid-30s in the Delaware River Valley and along the coast. High temperatures will range from the upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior and mid to upper 40s along the coast.
THURSDAY
Morning showers (wintry mix in the Poconos and Catskills, rain elsewhere) will taper off by the afternoon, as the area of low pressure evacuates to the northeast. Otherwise, partly cloudy with low temperatures ranging from the upper 20s to lower 30s in higher elevations, mid to upper 30s over the interior, and low to mid-40s along the coast. High temperatures will range from the mid to upper 30s in the Poconos and Catskills, low to mid-40s in the New York City metropolitan area, mid 40s to mid 50s over much of the interior, and mid-60s to mid-70s in the Philadelphia metropolitan areas.
FRIDAY
High pressure will build into the region with scattered clouds and temperatures likely falling throughout the day. Morning high temperatures ranging from the upper 30s to lower 40s in the Poconos and Catskills, mid-40s to mid-50s over the interior and along the coast, and mid to upper 50s in the Philadelphia metropolitan areas, will crash into the 10s and 20s across the region by Saturday morning.
SATURDAY and SUNDAY
An area of low pressure will produce periods of snow, sleet, and rain that will likely mix over to all rain by Sunday. Some minor snow accumulation is possible for elevations over 1,000 feet. Generally speaking, temperatures on Saturday will likely range from the mid-20s to mid-30s across the region, before rising into the mid-40s to mid-50s overnight, and then falling back into the mid-20s to mid-30s by Monday morning.
