In a snow-starved winter so far, many are keeping an eye out for a few snow showers tonight through tomorrow morning.  A major rainstorm is likely by the end of the week.

TONIGHT

An area of low pressure will pass through the region with periods of rain showers over southern New Jersey and a mix of rain and snow showers for the rest of the region.  A trace to 2″ of snow will be possible on cold surfaces, but most roadways will remain wet.  Winds will be from the west at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the upper 20s to lower 30s over the interior and lower to mid-30s along the coast for lows.

TOMORROW

The low-pressure system will exit in the early morning with lingering rain and snow showers followed by clearing skies.  Winds will be from the west at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast for highs.

TOMORROW NIGHT 

High pressure will produce scattered clouds.  Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the upper 20s to lower 30s for lows.

TUESDAY

High pressure will produce scattered clouds.  Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast for highs.

WEDNESDAY

High pressure will exit the region with increasing clouds.  Winds will veer to the northeast at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will range from the mid to upper 20s over the interior and lower to mid-30s along the coast for lows and lower to mid-40s for highs.

THURSDAY

An area of low pressure will approach with increasing clouds and showers by the evening hours.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast for lows and mid to upper 40s over the interior and lower to mid-50s along the coast for highs.

FRIDAY

An area of low pressure will produce periods of rain.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-40s over the interior and upper 40s to lower 50s along the coast for lows upper 40s to lower 50s over the interior and lower to mid-50s along the coast for highs.

SATURDAY

The low-pressure system will exit the region with lingering rain and snow showers early in the morning followed by clearing skies.  Temperatures will range from the mid to upper 20s over the interior and lower to mid-30s along the coast for lows and lower to mid-30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast for highs.

SUNDAY

High pressure will produce scattered clouds.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-20s over the interior and mid to upper 20s along the coast for lows and upper 20s to lower 30s over the interior and lower to mid-30s along the coast for highs.

MONDAY

High pressure will produce scattered clouds.  Temperatures will range from the upper 10s to the lower 20s over the interior and lower to mid-20s along the coast for lows and upper 30s to lower 40s for highs.
