A very chilly end to the weekend and a chance for flurries over portions of the interior today will give way to plentiful sunshine with persistent high pressure expected through the first half of the week. Near-average temperatures will gradually return in the process. A storm threat however is developing for the Thanksgiving weekend.
TODAY
Mostly sunny skies. Cold and windy with high-pressure building in throughout the day and winds from the west-northwest at 10 to 20 mph, with higher wind gusts possible. Flurries are possible over the interior, particularly in the Poconos and Catskill regions. No accumulation is expected. Temperatures will only rise into the mid to upper 30s along the coast and upper 20s to lower 30s over the interior.
TONIGHT
High pressure will produce clear skies and a west wind at 5 to 15 mph. Expect low temperatures in the mid to upper 20s along the coast and upper 10s to the lower 20s over the interior.
TOMORROW
High pressure will produce plentiful sunshine. Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph. High temperatures in the upper 30s to lower 40s are expected across much of the region.
TOMORROW NIGHT
Mostly clear skies with winds west-southwest at 5 to 10 mph. Temperatures will fall into the mid-30s along the coast and upper 20s to lower 30s over the interior.
TUESDAY
High pressure will produce a mainly sunny sky. Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph. High temperatures should reach the upper 40s to lower 50s along the coast and lower to mid-40s over much of the interior with temperatures likely sticking in the 30s for the Poconos/Catskills.
WEDNESDAY
High pressure will yet again allow for generally sunny skies. Low temperatures will range from the upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast and lower to mid-30s over much of the interior. Expect high temperatures to generally range throughout the 40s across most of the region, with highs in the 50s possible in the Delaware River Valley and along the coast.
THANKSGIVING
As of now, dry conditions should still be in place with generally sunny skies throughout much of the day then giving way to increasing cloud cover into the evening, as high pressure quickly retreats to the east. Rain showers could be possible overnight. Low temperatures will range from the upper 20s to lower 30s over much of the interior, mid-30s in the Delaware River Valley, and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast. High temperatures in the lower to mid-50s are expected for most of the region, with mid to upper 40s in the Poconos/Catskills.
BLACK FRIDAY
An area of low pressure will lift through the region with periods of rain, heavy at times, and windy conditions. Low temperatures will range from the mid to upper 40s along the coast and upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior. Expect high temperatures to generally range throughout the 40s across much of the region, with highs in the 50s again likely in the Delaware River Valley and along the coast.
SATURDAY
Low pressure exits the region with a chance for lingering showers in the morning. Otherwise, a mix of clouds and sun is expected throughout the day. Low temperatures will range from the lower to mid-40s along the coast and in the Delaware River Valley, ranging in the mid to upper 30s elsewhere. High temperatures should reach the lower to mid-40s over much of the interior and upper 40s to lower 50s along the coast.
SUNDAY
Partly cloudy skies. Low temperatures will range in the mid to upper 30s along the coast and upper 20s to lower 30s over the interior. High temperatures will range generally in the lower to mid-40s across the region.
