Low pressure will continue to exit the region this morning allowing Canadian high pressure and thus much cooler temperatures to fill in through Tuesday. A coastal low should then bring mixed precipitation to parts of the region but rain for most of the region Tuesday night into Wednesday. Canadian high pressure then returns once again, leaving a below normal temperature pattern in place through next weekend.
TODAY
Lingering scattered rain showers in the morning will give way to clearing skies for most this afternoon as high pressure begins to build in. An afternoon rain or snow shower in the Poconos is possible, with winds continuing from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph. High temperatures in the low to mid-50s along the coast and upper 40s over the interior are expected.
TONIGHT
Mostly clear skies with winds from the northwest at 5 to 10 mph and temperatures falling into the 30s across much of the region, with upper 20s likely in the Poconos and Catskills. A Freeze Warning is in place for portions of southeastern PA, southwestern NJ, and Delmarva.
TOMORROW
High pressure builds in bringing clear skies to most if not all of the region. Temperatures will rise into the 40s over the interior and along the coast, likely staying below 40 in the Poconos and Catskills.
TOMORROW NIGHT
Clear skies and light winds amidst high pressure will allow for temperatures to fall into the 20s over much of the interior, and 30s along the coast.
TUESDAY
Cloud cover increases throughout the day as an area of low pressure quickly approaches. Winds will veer to the east at 5 to 15 mph. Low temperatures will range from the mid to upper 20s in the Poconos/Catskills, upper 20s to lower 30s in the Delaware River Valley, and mid to upper 30s along the coast. High temperatures in the upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior and mid to upper 40s along the coast are expected. Rain will likely begin to spread into the southwestern portions of the region later in the day, with a mix of snow, sleet, and rain likely over the interior. Some minor snow accumulation will be possible on cold surfaces or in elevated areas overnight.
WEDNESDAY
A coastal low pressure system will continue to bring periods of rain along the coast and potentially a mix of snow, sleet, and rain over the interior. Some minor snow accumulation may be possible on cold surfaces or in elevated areas. The system should quickly evacuate the region by the evening hours. Low temperatures should range from the lower to mid-30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast. High temperatures will reach the upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior, mid to upper 40s in the Delaware River Valley, and upper 40s to lower 50s along the coast.
THURSDAY
High pressure begins to build in with partly cloudy skies expected across the region. Low temperatures will range from the lower to mid-30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast, with high temperatures in the upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior and mid to upper 40s along the coast.
FRIDAY
High pressure will produce clear skies to scattered cloud cover. Expect low temperatures to range from the mid to upper 20s over the interior and lower to mid-30s along the coast, with high temperatures in the upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior and lower to mid-40s along the coast.
SATURDAY
High pressure will produce clear skies to scattered cloud cover. Low temperatures will similarly range from the mid to upper 20s over the interior and lower to mid-30s along the coast. High temperatures in the lower to mid-30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast are expected.
SUNDAY
Generally clear skies, dry conditions, and below normal temperatures should continue. Low temperatures will likely range from the mid to upper 20s over the interior and lower to mid-30s in the Delaware River Valley and along the coast. High temperatures should reach the upper 3os to lower 40s over the interior, and mid to upper 40s along the coast.
