Nicole’s remnants will bring periods of rain and thunderstorms this evening, but the weekend won’t be a complete washout.  Meanwhile, the potential is growing for some wintry precipitation for the interior next week!

TODAY

The remnants of Nicole will lift through the region with waves of rainfall and embedded thunderstorms.  The thunderstorms will be capable of heavy downpours, frequent lightning, and wind gusts over 40 mph.  Winds will be from the southeast at 10 to 20 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-60s over the interior and mid-60s to lower 70s along the coast for highs.

TONIGHT 

Periods of rain and embedded thunderstorms will continue.  Winds will veer from the southeast to the southwest at 10 to 20 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 50s over the interior and lower to mid-60s along the coast for lows.

TOMORROW 

A strong cold front will follow with periods of rain and thunderstorms in the morning followed by clearing skies in the afternoon and evening.  Winds will veer to the west at 10 to 20 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 50s to lower 60s over the interior and mid-60s to lower 70s along the coast for highs.

TOMORROW NIGHT

Scattered clouds are expected with winds from the west at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior and mid-40s to lower 50s along the coast for lows.

SUNDAY

A weak trough and cold front will follow with scattered clouds and an isolated rain or snow shower in the morning and scattered clouds in the afternoon.  Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 40s over the interior and lower to mid-50s along the coast for highs.

MONDAY

High pressure will build into the region with scattered clouds and a few isolated snow showers in the Poconos and Catskills.  Temperatures will range from the upper 20s to lower 30s over the interior and mid to upper 30s along the coast for lows and upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior and lower to mid-40s along the coast for highs.

TUESDAY

High pressure will exit the region with increasing clouds.  Temperatures will range from the mid to upper 20s over the interior and lower to mid-30s along the coast for lows and upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior and lower to mid-40s along the coast for highs.

WEDNESDAY

An area of low pressure will pass through the coastal waters with periods of rain along the coast and a mix of snow, sleet, and rain over the interior.  Some snow accumulation will be possible.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast for lows and upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior, mid-40s to lower 50s in the Delaware River Valley, and mid-50s to lower 60s along the coast for highs.

THURSDAY

A cold front will pass through the region with scattered clouds and isolated rain and snow showers.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast for lows and upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior and mid to upper 40s along the coast for highs.

FRIDAY

High pressure will produce clear skies to scattered clouds.  Temperatures will range from the mid to upper 20s over the interior and lower to mid-30s along the coast for lows and upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior and lower to mid-40s along the coast for highs.
