Showers and thunderstorms, some severe, will move through our region to close out the weekend. An unsettled weather pattern continues through the week with cooler temperatures and drier air on the way.
TODAY
Cloudy skies with scattered showers and thunderstorms and isolated severe thunderstorms developing later this afternoon. Winds SSW at 10-15 mph and high temperatures in the upper 60s to lower 70s over the interior, and mid to upper 70s in the Delaware River Valley and along the coast are expected.
TONIGHT
Scattered thunderstorms possible this evening, giving way to clearing skies. Temperatures will fall into the 50s across much of the region and near 60 along the coast.
TOMORROW
A mid level trough lingers over the region with high pressure expected to nose in from the southwest. Generally sunny and breezy, with a low chance for isolated showers over the northern portion of the region. Expect high temperatures in the low to mid-70s in the Delaware River Valley and along the coast, and 60s elsewhere.
TOMORROW NIGHT
Partly cloudy skies with winds SW at 5-10 mph. Low temperatures will mostly range in the 50s throughout the region, lower 60s along the coast, and upper 40s possible in the Catskills/Poconos.
TUESDAY
Intervals of clouds and sunshine. Look for high temperatures in the upper 60s to lower 70s along the coast and in the Delaware River Valley, and mid to upper 60s over the interior.
WEDNESDAY
A cold front passes through. Mostly sunny and breezy, with winds WNW at 10-15 mph. High temperatures mostly in the 60s with lower 70s from the Delaware River Valley to the coast.
THURSDAY

Low temperatures in the mid to upper 40s over the interior, and low to mid-50s from the Delaware River Valley to the coast are expected. High temperatures should reach the upper 50s over the Poconos/Catskills, and mid to upper 60s elsewhere.
FRIDAY
Mostly cloudy skies with winds out of the NE at 5-10 mph. Low temperatures will fall into the upper 40s to lower 50s from the Delaware River Valley to the coast, and low to mid-40s over much of the interior with upper 30s likely in the Poconos/Catskills. High temperatures in the upper 50s to lower 60s for a majority of the region are expected.
SATURDAY AND SUNDAY
Surface high pressure moves off the coast on Saturday, but it is currently unclear if our region will then receive precipitation associated with tropical storm Ian. For now, considerable cloudiness with rain showers seems likely for both Saturday and Sunday. Low temperatures Saturday and Sunday should begin in the upper 40s to lower 50s over the northern portion of our region and upper 50s to lower 60s over the southern. Saturday, high temperatures in the low to mid-60s are expected, with low to mid-50s in higher elevations. Sunday, look for highs near 80 in the Delaware River Valley and along the coast, with upper 60s to lower 70s elsewhere.
