A lingering frontal boundary will keep the threat of showers in the forecast for the beginning of the week. Then, Canadian High Pressure takes a strong hold over the region through next weekend, likely allowing for below normal temperatures and much drier conditions.
TODAY
Low-level moisture maintained by easterly flow will maintain scattered cloud cover throughout the region. There is a minimal severe risk for any showers or thunderstorms that may develop, particularly around the Philadelphia area, as they could be slow-moving and cause minor flooding. Otherwise, slightly cooler than yesterday, with high temperatures ranging in the 80s across the region.
TONIGHT
A lingering shower or thunderstorm is possible, with partly cloudy skies and patchy fog possible again. Temperatures will fall into the upper 60s to lower 70s throughout the region.
TOMORROW
Partly cloudy skies with warmer temperatures ahead of an approaching cold front. Expect high temperatures of the upper 80s to lower 90s in the Delaware River Valley, and lower to mid-80s elsewhere.
TOMORROW NIGHT
Mainly clear but humid with temperatures falling into the mid to upper 60s over the interior and lower to mid-70s for the Delaware River Valley and anywhere east of the i-95 corridor.
TUESDAY
A chance for showers and thunderstorms ahead of an approaching cold front. Look for high temperatures along the coast in the low to mid-80s, with upper 80s to lower 90s elsewhere.
WEDNESDAY
A cold front passes through, lowering dewpoints and clearing skies. Winds gusting 20-25 mph are possible. Most will wake up to much cooler temperatures with lows in the mid to upper 50s for the Poconos and Catskills and mid to upper 60s in the Delaware River Valley and along the coast. High temperatures in the lower to mid-80s over the interior, mid to upper 80s in the Delaware River Valley, and upper 70s to lower 80s along the coast are expected.
THURSDAY
High pressure allows for a pleasant and generally sunny day. Expect similarly low temperatures in the upper 50s to lower 60s over the interior and mid to upper 60s elsewhere. High temperatures across the region should range in the lower 80s.
FRIDAY
Established high pressure continues. Partly cloudy and dry, with lows in the 40s possible in the Catskills and Pocono regions, ranging throughout the 50s elsewhere. High temperatures should remain in the 70s for most, with near 80 likely in the Delaware River Valley.
SATURDAY and SUNDAY
High pressure begins to shift East, but drier air remains in place throughout the weekend. Otherwise, variable cloud cover and gradually warming temperatures. Saturday morning, low temperatures should range throughout the 50s for most, with lower 60s possible in the Delaware River Valley. High temperatures should reach the upper 70s to lower 80s. Sunday, look for lows slightly warmer with the upper 50s to lower 60s for most. High temperatures in the upper 70s to lower 80s are expected along the coast and over the interior, with upper 80s to lower 90s in the Delaware River Valley.
