The pleasant weekend comes to an end with rain and humidity right around the corner. Excessive heat likely to revisit mid-week as well.
TODAY
Similar to yesterday for most, but instead increasing cloud cover and a more southerly wind. Temperatures will once again climb into the 80’s for much of the region but remaining slightly cooler along the coast due to an onshore wind.
TONIGHT
A wave arrives, bringing scattered to widespread showers and thunderstorms to the region. Otherwise cloudy and humid, with temperatures falling into the upper 60s for a majority of the region, and lower 70s in the Delaware River Valley.
TOMORROW
Lingering showers in the morning give way to clearer skies in the afternoon. A slight chance for a stray late afternoon shower or thunderstorm exists. Not as hot, with temperatures struggling to reach the 80s across the region. Expect highs in the mid-upper 70s.
TOMORROW NIGHT
A warm front lifts to the north of our area. Expect partly cloudy skies and humid conditions with low temperatures near 70 for most.
TUESDAY
High pressure builds in from the West, as a cold front trailing the low to the north digs southward by Tuesday night. Generally sunny skies across the region should allow for high temperatures to warm again, with upper 80s to lower 90s anywhere in the Delaware River Valley and east.
WEDNESDAY
Plentiful sunshine with winds gradually turning more southerly by night. Overnight temperatures cooler than usual falling into the mid-upper 50s across portions of the interior, and mid-upper 60s from the Delaware River Valley down to the coast. High temperatures should be slightly hotter than Tuesday, with upper 80s to lower 90s expected throughout the region.
THURSDAY
High pressure weakens, but otherwise clear and hot. Likely the hottest day of the week. Low temperatures will range in the 60s before quickly climbing into the 90s everywhere but along the coast and Long island, with upper 90s to lower 100s possible in any urban areas.
FRIDAY
Muggy, hot, and mostly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible. Low temperatures in the lower-mid 70s are expected east of the i-95 corridor. High temperatures should reach the upper 80s to lower 90s across the region.
SATURDAY
Mostly cloudy skies with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Low temperatures ranging in the upper 60s to lower 70s are expected. High temperatures will likely reach the mid 80s for the interior, upper 80s to lower 90s for the Delaware River Valley, and lower 80s along the coast.
SUNDAY
Similarly cloudy skies but warmer, with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible again. Low temperatures ranging in the upper 60s to lower 70s, and high temperatures in the mid-upper 80s are expected.
