We look to begin our week with a light snowfall event. Otherwise, a mainly quiet week with milder temperatures is expected. A strong cold front looks to impact the region as we head towards the weekend.
Saturday: Some peaks of sun early will give way to overcast conditions as a cold front approaches the region. Snow showers are expected to break out late overnight in association with the cold front. Temperatures will range from the low-40s to upper-40s for the interior while the coast ranges from low-50s to upper-50s. Winds will be from the west at 10-15 mph. Lows will fall steadily into the upper-10s to mid-20s for the interior while the coast ranges from the mid-20s to low-30s.
Sunday: Snow showers are expected to continue early before tapering off during the early afternoon hours. Snow accumulations of a coating to an inch are possible for the immediate shore points and the interior while parts of southern New Jersey could reach 1-2 inches. Temperatures will be in the mid-20s to low-30s for highs. Winds will be from the northwest at 5-10 mph. Overnight lows will fall into the mid-0s to low-10s for the interior while the coast ranges from the mid-10s to low-20s.
Monday: Skies will begin to clear as an area of high-pressure slides in from the west. Temperatures will range from the upper-10s to mid-20s for the interior while the coast ranges from the mid-20s to low-30s for highs. Winds will be from the west at 5-10 mph. Lows will fall into the mid-10s to low-20s.
Tuesday: A dry and calm day with ample sunshine is expected with high-pressure sitting directly overhead. Highs will climb into the mid-20s to low-30s for northern areas while southern areas range from the low-30s to near 4o. Winds will be from the west at 5-10 mph. Overnight lows will drop into the low-20s to upper-20s.
Wednesday: Another dry and mild day is expected as the high-pressure system slides off the coast, bringing southwest flow. Temperatures will rise throughout the day into the upper-30s to mid-40s. Winds will be from the southwest at 10-15 mph. Temperatures will continue to climb during the overnight hours.
Thursday: A rather wet and unsettled day is expected as a strong cold front approaches the region, bringing steady rain to the area. Rainfall amounts of up to an inch are possible in a relatively short amount of time. This could lead to flooding in some areas. Highs will soar into the upper-50s to mid-60s. Winds will be from 15-20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph possible. Lows will crash into the low-20s to upper-20s for the interior while the coast ranges from the upper-20s to mid-30s. Some backend snow showers are possible for far northern locations but details are uncertain at this time.
Friday: Clearing conditions will take place today as the cold front clears the coast. Highs will range from the mid-20s to low-30s for the interior while the coast ranges from the low-30s to near 40. Winds will be from the northwest at 10-15 mph. Lows will fall into the mid-10s to low-20s for the interior while the coast ranges from the low-20s to upper-20s.
