An icy wintry mix will give way to periods of rain as the week starts off chilly, raw, and wet.  A warmer weather pattern will settle in for the rest of the week.

TODAY

A trough of low pressure will produce periods of snow, sleet, freezing rain, and rain this morning.  Snow and ice accumulation will be generally a trace.  Periods of rain will continue through the afternoon and evening.  Winds will be from the east at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 30s over the interior to the lower to mid-40s along the coast for highs.

TONIGHT

A wave of low pressure will pass through the coastal waters with periods of rain through midnight followed by clearing skies towards morning.  Winds will back to the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the upper 10s over the interior to the mid-30s along the coast for lows.

TOMORROW

A cold front will pass through the region with scattered cloud cover.  Winds will be from the west at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower 30s over the higher elevations to the mid-40s along the coast for highs.

WEDNESDAY

High pressure will be in control with clear skies to scattered clouds.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will range from the upper 10s over the interiors to the mid-20s along the coast for lows and lower 40s over the interior to the lower 50s along the coast for highs.

THURSDAY THROUGH SATURDAY

A series of weak troughs will pass through the region with scattered clouds expected.  Temperatures on Thursday will range from the upper 20s over the interior to the mid-30s along the coast for lows and upper 30s over the interior to the lower 50s along the coast for highs.  Temperatures on Friday will range from the lower 20s over the interior to the upper 20s along the coast for lows and lower 40s over the interior to the upper 40s along the coast for highs.  Temperatures on Saturday will range from the mid-30s to lower 40s for lows and lower 40s over the interior to the upper 50s along the coast for highs.

SUNDAY

A cold front will move through in the morning hours with scattered cloud cover.  Temperatures will range from the single digits over the interior to the lower 20s along the coast for lows and upper 10s over the interior to the mid-20s along the coast for highs.

MONDAY

A wave of low-pressure well east of the region will support the threat of snow showers.  Temperatures will range from the negative single digits over the interior to the mid-10s along the coast for lows and mid-10s over the interior to the mid-20s along the coast for highs.
