Dangerous heat and isolated thunderstorms will be a threat today through next week.  Thunderstorms will have the potential of intense downpours, frequent lightning, and wind gusts over 40 mph.

TODAY

High pressure will push the stationary front off the coast with scattered clouds and isolated thunderstorms.  Winds will be from the west at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 80s to lower 90s over the interior, upper 80s to lower 90s along the coast, and lower to mid-90s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.  A heat index of the mid-90s to lower 100s can be expected.

TONIGHT

High pressure will exit with scattered clouds.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the lower to mid-70s for lows.

TOMORROW

A warm front will lift through the region with broken clouds and isolated thunderstorms.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-80s on Long Island, upper 80s to lower 90s along the coast, upper 80s to lower 90s over the interior, and lower to mid-90s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.  A heat index of the mid-90s to lower 100s can be expected.

SUNDAY

A stationary front with waves of low pressure will produce periods of rain and embedded thunderstorms.  Temperatures will range from the mid to upper 60s over the interior and upper 60s to lower 70s along the coast for lows and mid to upper 70s over the interior, mid to upper 70s along the coast, and lower to mid-80s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.
