Tropical conditions return for the weekend with showers and thunderstorms an increasing threat reaching an apex tomorrow evening with severe weather a high threat.

TODAY

A warm front will invade the region with scattered showers.  Winds will veer from the southeast to the south at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will range from the upper 70s to lower 80s on Long Island, mid to upper 80s along the coast, upper 80s to lower 90s in the Delaware River Valley, and lower to mid-80s over the interior for highs.

TONIGHT

Tropical humid conditions will be in place with broken clouds, scattered showers, and thunderstorms.  The thunderstorms will be capable of intense downpours, frequent lightning, and wind gusts over 40 mph.  Winds will be from the south-southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the lower to mid-70s over the interior, mid to upper 70s in the suburbs, and upper 70s to lower 80s in urban areas for lows.

TOMORROW

A cold front will move through the region with scattered showers and thunderstorms.  The thunderstorms will be capable of intense downpours, frequent lightning, hail, wind gusts over 50 mph, and isolated tornadoes.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-80s on Long Island, upper 80s to lower 90s along the coast, mid to upper 90s in the Delaware River Valley, and mid-80s to lower 90s over the interior for highs.
