The thunderstorms will be capable of heavy downpours, frequent lightning, hail, and wind gusts over 40 mph. The strongest thunderstorms are expected to be in the Poconos, Catskills, Hudson River Valley, and Hudson Highlands from 2 PM through 6 PM. The thunderstorms will push towards the coast from 5 PM to 10 PM while weakening. Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph. Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-80s over the interior, upper 80s to lower 90s in the Delaware River Valley, lower to mid-80s along the coast, and upper 70s to lower 80s on Long Island for highs.
