As one winter storm exits, another powerful storm will approach with the potential of widespread flooding and wind damage by Tuesday night.

TODAY

Rain and snow will end this afternoon, followed by clearing skies.  Winds will back to the northwest at 10 to 20 mph.  Temperatures will hold in the lower to mid-30s over the interior and mid to upper 30s along the coast.

TONIGHT

Scattered clouds are expected.  Winds will be from the west at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the lower to mid-20s over the interior and mid to upper 20s along the coast for lows.

TOMORROW

Scattered clouds are expected.  Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 30s over the interior and lower to mid-40s along the coast for highs.

TOMORROW NIGHT

Scattered clouds are expected.  Winds will be from the north at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the lower to mid-10s over the interior and upper 10s to mid-20s along the coast for lows.

TUESDAY

Clouds will increase in the morning.  A wintry mix of snow, sleet, and rain will mix over to rain in the Poconos and Catskills, while rain will develop elsewhere in the afternoon.  Winds will be from the east at 10 to 20 mph, with gusts increasing to over 40 mph by the evening.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 30s to mid-40s over the interior and upper 40s to mid-50s along the coast for evening highs.

WEDNESDAY

The area of low pressure will lift through the region with periods of heavy rain that will produce the threat of flooding, wind damage, and power outages.  Winds will be from the southwest at 10 to 20 mph, with gusts over 40 mph.  Temperatures will range from the upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior and mid to upper 40s along the coast for lows and lower to mid-50s for highs.

THURSDAY

High pressure will produce scattered cloud cover.  Temperatures will range from the upper 20s to mid-30s for lows and upper 30s to mid-40s for highs.

FRIDAY

High pressure will exit the region with scattered clouds.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-30s over the interior and mid to upper 30s along the coast for lows and lower to mid-40s over the interior and upper 40s to lower 50s along the coast for highs.

SATURDAY

A powerful arctic cold front will move through the region with periods of rain.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast for lows and lower to mid-50s over the interior and upper 50s to mid-60s along the coast for highs.  Temperatures will rapidly fall through the 40s, 30s, and 20s in the afternoon behind the cold front.

SUNDAY

Scattered clouds are expected.  Temperatures will range from the upper 10s to lower 20s over the interior and lower to mid-20s along the coast for lows and mid to upper 30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast for highs.
