The first of several low-pressure systems will approach the region today with showers by this afternoon and evening.  An unsettled weather pattern will continue through the weekend.  A shift to a chilly weather pattern is expected next week.

TODAY

An area of low pressure will approach the region with increasing clouds in the morning, followed by scattered showers in the afternoon and evening.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 40s over the interior and upper 40s to lower 50s along the coast for highs.

TONIGHT

An area of low pressure will produce overcast skies and scattered showers.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior and lower to mid-40s along the coast for lows.

TOMORROW

An area of low pressure will produce variable clouds and scattered showers.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 50s over the interior and upper 50s to mid-60s along the coast for highs.

TOMORROW NIGHT

A trough will linger over the region with variable clouds and isolated showers.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior and mid to upper 40s along the coast for lows.

SUNDAY

An area of low pressure will approach the region with isolated showers through the morning.  Widespread rainfall will develop in the afternoon and will be heavy at times.  Some snow and sleet will occasionally mix into the rain for elevations above 1,250 feet.  Winds will back to the east at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 40s over the interior and lower to mid-50s along the coast for highs.

MONDAY

An area of low pressure will lift into New England with a wintry mix over the interior and rain along the coast in the early morning hours followed by lingering scattered showers throughout the rest of the day.  Winds will back to the west at 10 to 20 mph with gusts over 30 mph.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-30s over the interior and upper 30s to mid-40s along the coast for lows and upper 30s to mid-40s over the interior and upper 40s to lower 50s along the coast for highs.

TUESDAY

High pressure will produce scattered clouds.  Temperatures will range from the upper 20s to lower 30s for lows and mid to upper 30s over the interior and lower to mid-40s along the coast for highs.

WEDNESDAY

A weak trough will produce snow showers over the Poconos and scattered cloud cover elsewhere.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-20s over the interior and upper 20s to lower 30s along the coast for lows and mid to upper 30s over the interior and lower to mid-40s along the coast for highs.

THURSDAY
