A tranquil start to the short week will give way to stormy conditions tomorrow evening with a wintry mix and heavy rainfall.  An unsettled weather pattern continues through the Thanksgiving weekend.

TODAY

High pressure will pass over the region with scattered cloud cover.  Winds will veer to the northeast at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior, lower to mid-40s along the coast, and mid to upper 40s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.

TONIGHT

High pressure will exit with increasing clouds.  Winds will veer to the east at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 20s over the interior and upper 20s to lower 30s along the coast for lows.

TOMORROW

An area of low pressure will approach the region with a warm front, producing increasing clouds in the morning followed by precipitation in the afternoon.  A mix of snow and sleet can be expected for elevations above 1,000 feet that will gradually change over to rain by midnight, while periods of rain can be expected throughout the rest of the region.  The precipitation will be heavy at times.  Winds will be from the southeast at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the mid-40s to lower 50s over the interior and lower to mid-50s along the coast by the late evening hours.  See details below on storm impacts.

The warm front will lift northward with the wintry mix for elevations over 1,000 feet, changing over to rain by midnight.  Waves of heavy rainfall can be expected throughout the region.  Winds will veer to the southeast at 10 to 20 mph, with gusts over 30 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the mid-40s to lower 50s over the interior and lower to mid-50s along the coast for lows.

WEDNESDAY

A strong cold front will pass through the region in the morning, with waves of heavy rainfall exiting the region from west to east.  The skies will clear in the late morning and afternoon.  Winds will back to the northwest at 10 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph.  Temperatures will range from the mid-40s to lower 50s over the interior and lower to mid-50s along the coast for morning highs, followed by temperatures falling through the 40s and 30s in the afternoon and evening.

THANKSGIVING

High pressure will build into the region with clearing skies.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph.  Temperatures will range from the upper 20s to lower 30s over the interior and lower to mid-30s along the coast for lows and mid to upper 40s over the interior and lower to mid-50s along the coast for highs.

FRIDAY

High pressure will pass to the north of the region with scattered clouds.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-30s over the interior and mid to upper 30s along the coast for lows and upper 40s to lower 50s for highs.

SATURDAY

An area of low pressure will produce periods of rain for most of the region and a wintry mix of snow, sleet, and rain for elevations above 1,000 feet.  Temperatures will range from the mid-30s to lower 40s over the interior and mid to upper 40s along the coast for lows and upper 30s to mid-40s over the interior and upper 40s to lower 50s along the coast for highs.

SUNDAY

High pressure will produce scattered clouds.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-20s over the interior and mid to upper 20s along the coast for lows and lower to mid-30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast for highs.

MONDAY

High pressure will produce scattered clouds.  Temperatures will range from the mid to upper 20s for lows and upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior and mid to upper 40s along the coast for highs.
