High pressure will provide excellent weather today, but unsettled conditions are set to return tomorrow.  A chilly, dry weather pattern takes by the weekend.

TODAY

High pressure will pass to the north of the region with scattered clouds.  Winds will veer from the north to the northeast at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-40s over the interior and upper 40s to mid-50s along the coast for highs.

TONIGHT

An area of low pressure will approach with a warm front producing rain mixing with snow and sleet at times for elevations above 1,500 feet; otherwise, widely scattered showers will pass through the region.  Winds will veer to the east at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 30s over the interior and lower to mid-40s along the coast for lows.

TOMORROW

An area of low pressure will pass to the north of the region, with a warm front in the morning producing a wintry mix of snow, sleet, and rain showers in the Poconos, Catskills, Hudson River Valley, and Hudson Highlands and showers elsewhere.  No snow or ice accumulation is expected, but slick roadways are a threat.  A cold front will follow in the afternoon, with scattered showers throughout the region.  Winds will veer from the east to the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-60s over the interior and upper 60s to lower 70s along the coast for highs.

TOMORROW NIGHT

A trough will linger over the region with scattered clouds and isolated showers.  Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the upper 30s to lower 40s for lows.

FRIDAY

An area of low pressure will pass through the region with isolated showers.  Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 40s to lower 50s for highs.

SATURDAY

A trough will linger over the region with scattered clouds.  Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-30s over the interior and mid-30s to lower 40s along the coast for lows and mid-40s to lower 50s over the interior, lower to mid-50s along the coast, and mid to upper 50s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.
