Clearing skies and light winds will support temperatures to fall to around freezing away from the coast tonight.  A series of weak low-pressure systems will bring the risk of rain and snow showers to the region this week.

TONIGHT

High pressure will produce clearing skies.  Winds will be light and variable.  Temperatures will fall into the lower to mid-30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast for lows.

TOMORROW

High pressure will pass over the region with scattered clouds.  Winds will be from the north at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-50s over the interior and mid to upper 50s along the coast for highs.

TOMORROW NIGHT

High pressure will exit the region with scattered clouds.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the upper 40s to lower 50s over the interior and lower to mid-50s along the coast for lows.

TUESDAY

An area of low pressure will pass north of the region with a cold front producing isolated showers.  Winds will veer from the southwest to the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-60s over the interior and mid to upper-60s along the coast for highs.

High pressure will pass to the north of the region with scattered clouds.  Winds will veer from the northwest to the northeast at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will range from the upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior and lower to mid-40s along the coast for lows and mid to upper 40s over the interior and lower to mid-50s along the coast for highs.

THURSDAY

An area of low pressure will pass to the north of the region, with a warm front in the morning producing a wintry mix of snow, sleet, and rain in the Poconos, Catskills, Hudson River Valley, and Hudson Highlands and showers elsewhere.  No snow or ice accumulation is expected, but slick roadways are a threat.  A cold front will follow in the afternoon, with scattered showers throughout the region.  Winds will veer from the east to the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will range from the mid to upper 30s over the interior, lower to mid-40s in the New York City metropolitan area, and upper 40s to lower 50s in the Philadelphia metropolitan area for lows and mid to upper 50s over the interior, upper 50s to mid-60s in the New York City metropolitan area, and mid-60s to lower 70s in the Philadelphia metropolitan area for highs.

FRIDAY

An area of low pressure will pass through the region with periods of showers.  Temperatures will range from the upper 30s to lower 40s for lows and mid to upper 40s over the interior and upper 40s to lower 50s along the coast for highs.

SATURDAY

A trough will linger over the region with scattered clouds and isolated showers.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast for lows and mid to upper 40s over the interior and lower to mid-50s along the coast for highs.

SUNDAY

High pressure will be in control, with clear skies and scattered clouds.  Temperatures will range from the upper 20s to lower 30s over the interior and lower to mid-30s along the coast for lows and lower to mid-40s over the interior and mid-40s to lower 50s along the coast for highs.

MONDAY

High pressure will be in control, with clear skies and scattered clouds.  Temperatures will range from upper 20s to lower 30s over the interior and lower to mid-30s along the coast for lows and upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior and mid to upper 40s along the coast for highs.
