High pressure will set the stage for some wild thermal gradients as conditions remain cool on the coast but heat up in the Delaware River Valley through Saturday.

TODAY

High pressure will produce scattered clouds.  Winds will be light and variable.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 50s to mid-60s on Long Island, mid-60s to lower 70s along the coast, mid to upper 70s in the Delaware River Valley, and lower to mid-70s over the interior for highs.

TONIGHT

High pressure will be in control with clearing skies.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the upper 40s to lower 50s for lows.

TOMORROW

High pressure will be in control with scattered clouds.  Winds will be light and variable.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 60s to mid-70s on Long Island, mid-70s to lower 80s along the coast, lower to mid-80s over the interior, and mid to upper 80s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.

TOMORROW NIGHT

High pressure will be in control with clearing skies.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the lower to mid-50s for lows.

Scattered clouds are expected into the afternoon.  A strong cold front will produce showers and thunderstorms in the evening into the overnight hours.  These thunderstorms will be capable of heavy downpours, frequent lightning, and wind gusts over 40 mph.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-70s over the interior, upper 60s to mid-70s along the coast, and upper 70s to lower 80s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.

SUNDAY

A strong cold front will produce periods of showers and thunderstorms in the morning, from the New Jersey coast to Connecticut.  The thunderstorms will be capable of heavy downpours and wind gusts over 40 mph.  The skies will clear from west to east from the mid-morning hours through the afternoon.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will range from the mid-40s to lower 50s over the interior and mid to upper 50s along the coast for lows and upper 50s to mid-60s over the interior, lower to mid-60s along the coast, and upper 60s to lower 70s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.

MONDAY

A series of troughs will produce scattered clouds and isolated showers.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-40s for lows and upper 40s to mid-50s over the interior and upper 50s to lower 60s along the coast for highs.

TUESDAY

A series of troughs will produce scattered clouds with isolated showers.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast for lows and mid-40s to lower 50s over the interior, lower to mid-50s along the coast, and mid-50s to lower 60s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.

WEDNESDAY

A warm front will produce scattered showers.  Temperatures will range from the upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior and mid to upper 40s along the coast for lows and mid to upper 50s over the interior and lower to mid-60s along the coast for highs.

THURSDAY

Scattered clouds are expected.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-30s over the interior and upper 30s to mid-40s along the coast for lows and mid to upper 50s for highs.
