An area of low pressure will bring a winter mix mess to the region tonight for the interior and rain on the coast.  A more significant storm is on the way for early next week with significant impacts expected.

TODAY

An area of low pressure will approach the region with increasing clouds through the morning followed by the development of rain and snow showers through the afternoon and evening.  Periods of snow will take hold towards midnight.  Winds will be from the north at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-40s for highs.

TONIGHT

An area of low pressure will produce periods of rain and snow along the coast and snow and sleet over the interior.  See the map below for delays in snowfall accumulation expectations.  Winds will be from the northeast at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the lower to mid-30s over the interior and mid to upper 30s along the coast for lows.

TOMORROW

The area of low pressure will exit the region with periods of rain and snow showers in the morning followed by clearing skies.  Winds will be from the northeast at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 30s over the interior and lower to mid-40s along the coast for highs.

TOMORROW NIGHT

High pressure will produce clear skies to scattered clouds.  Winds will be from the northeast at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the mid-10s to lower 20s over the higher elevations, mid-20s to lower 30s in the suburbs, and lower to mid-30s in the urban areas for lows.

SUNDAY

High pressure will produce scattered clouds throughout the region.  Winds will be from the northeast at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-40s over the interior, lower to mid-40s along the coast, and upper 40s to lower 50s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.

MONDAY

An area of low pressure will approach the region with waves of moderate to heavy rainfall along the coast and a wintry mix of snow, sleet, and rain over the interior.  Significant snow accumulations are expected for the higher elevations.  Urban flooding and coastal flooding will be a threat along the coast along with wind damage and power outages.  Winds will be from the northeast at 10 to 20 mph.  Temperatures will range lower to mid-30s over the interior and mid to upper 30s along the coast for lows and mid to upper 30s over the interior and lower to mid-40s along the coast for highs.

TUESDAY

The low-pressure system will exit the region with periods of rain mixing with snow along the coast while snow continues over the interior with windy conditions.  Significant impacts are possible including poor travel conditions and power outages.  Temperatures will range from the upper 20s to lower 30s over the interior and lower to mid-30s along the coast for lows and lower to mid-30s over the interior and mid to upper 30s along the coast for highs.

WEDNESDAY

High pressure will produce clear skies to scattered clouds.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-20s over the interior and mid to upper 20s along the coast for lows and lower to mid-30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast for highs.

THURSDAY

High pressure will produce clear skies to scattered clouds.  Temperatures will range from the mid-10s to lower 20s over the interior and lower to mid-20s along the coast for lows and mid to upper 30s over the interior and lower to mid-40s along the coast for highs.

FRIDAY

High pressure will produce clear skies to scattered clouds.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-20s over the interior and upper 20s to lower 30s along the coast for lows and upper 40s to lower 50s over the interior, mid-40s to lower 50s along the coast, and mid to upper 50s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.
