A strengthening area of low pressure will bring afternoon and overnight rain showers across the southeastern portion of our region into tomorrow morning. Then, a weak cold front will pass through Monday night before much warmer temperatures settle in for the second half of the workweek.

TODAY

An area of low pressure will approach from the southwest bringing increased cloud cover across the region.  Afternoon and evening showers will develop over central and southern New Jersey, with winds out of the northeast at 5 to 15 mph likely gusting higher along the coastline.  Temperatures will rise into the mid-40s throughout the region. Patchy fog could develop along the coast with onshore winds and cooler ocean temperatures in place.

TONIGHT

Low pressure will pass through the coastal waters with periods of rain, heavy at times, and fog over southern and central coastal New Jersey.  Scattered showers are likely along the I-95 corridor with scattered cloud cover over the western and northern interior.  Winds will back from the northeast to the northwest at 5 to 15 mph and temperatures will fall into the upper 20s to lower 30s over the interior and mid to upper 30s along the coast.

TOMORROW

The area of low pressure will swiftly exit the region with rain in the morning along the coast giving way to clearing skies.  Otherwise, mostly sunny with winds generally from the west at 5 to 15 mph.  Expect daytime temperatures to climb into the upper 40s to lower 50s over the interior and lower to mid-50s along the coast.

TOMORROW NIGHT

A weak cold front arriving from the northwest will quickly move through the region. Isolated to scattered snow flurries or light snow showers may develop for the Poconos and Catskills. Winds will increase from the northwest after the frontal passage with temperatures falling into the low to mid-30s for much of the region.

TUESDAY

High pressure will produce mostly sunny skies, with higher clouds likely increasing into the evening. Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph. Expect low temperatures to range from the upper 20s to lower 30s over the interior and lower to mid-30s along the coast, and high temperatures generally in the mid to upper 40s over the interior and upper 40s to lower 50s along the coast.

WEDNESDAY

A weak shortwave trough will produce scattered clouds and isolated rain showers.  Low temperatures will range in the low to mid-30s in the Poconos and Catskills, with lower to mid-40s likely elsewhere. Expect high temperatures in the low to mid-50s along the coast, mid to upper 50s over the interior, and upper 50s to lower 60s in the Delaware River Valley.

THURSDAY

An area of low pressure will approach with increasing cloud cover and periods of rain, potentially heavy at times, expected. Low temperatures will range from the lower to mid-40s and high temperatures similarly will be in the mid to upper 50s along the coast and lower to mid-60s away from the coast.

FRIDAY

An associated cold front will follow, bringing additional periods of rain which may be heavy at times.  A few embedded thunderstorms could even develop.  Low temperatures will range from the mid to upper 40s over the interior and lower to mid-50s along the coast. High temperatures will range from the mid to upper 50s over the interior, upper 50s to lower 60s along the coast, and lower to mid-60s in the Delaware River Valley.

SATURDAY

High pressure will produce scattered cloud cover to clear skies.  Low temperatures will range from the upper 10s to the lower 20s over the interior and mid to upper 20s along the coast, with high temperatures in the mid to upper 30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast and in the Delaware River Valley.

SUNDAY

Partly to mostly cloudy, with an approaching area of low pressure producing increased cloud cover during the day. Expect low temperatures generally in the upper 20s to lower 30s and high temperatures in the mid to upper 40s throughout the region.
