A weak cold front passing through will bring isolated to scattered rain showers this afternoon and into this evening. Then, a series of weak low pressure systems will move along the front as it settles further south Tuesday through Thursday, before an arctic air mass dives southward on Friday. This will likely bring extremely cold temperatures and potentially dangerous wind chills to the region.
TODAY
A weak cold front will move through the region producing cloudy conditions and isolated to scattered light rain showers in the afternoon and evening. Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph. High temperatures will reach the upper 40s to lower 50s across much of the region.
TONIGHT
Mostly cloudy, with winds generally from the southwest at 5 to 10 mph. Temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast.
TOMORROW
A stationary front will produce mostly cloudy skies with isolated showers possible towards the evening. Winds will continue from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph, with high temperatures reaching the upper 40s to lower 50s along the coast and over the southern interior and lower to mid-40s over the northern interior.
TOMORROW NIGHT
Generally cloudy skies with temperatures falling into the upper 20s to lower 30s in the Poconos and Catskills, low to mid-30s in and around the Delaware River Valley, and mid to upper 30s along the coast. Winds will back to the northwest at 5 to 10 mph.
TUESDAY
A cold front will sink through the region with a slight chance for scattered rain and snow showers and winds from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph. High temperatures will range from the upper 20s to lower 30s in the Pocono and Catskill regions and mid to upper 30s elsewhere.
WEDNESDAY
High pressure builds in providing partly cloudy skies and cooler temperatures. Low temperatures will range from the upper 10s to the lower 20s over the interior and mid-20s to lower 30s along the coast. High temperatures in the mid to upper 20s in the Pocono and Catskill regions and lower to mid-30s elsewhere is expected.
THURSDAY
A wave of low pressure riding along a stationary boundary may push a few isolated to scattered snow showers through the region. Otherwise mostly cloudy, with low temperatures ranging from the upper 10s to mid-20s over the interior, and upper 20s to lower 30s along the coast. High temperatures will range from the mid to upper 30s over much of the interior, and upper 30s to lower 40s in and around the Delaware River Valley and along the coast.
FRIDAY
An arctic front will dive southward producing windy conditions, gradually clearing skies, and falling temperatures throughout the day. High temperatures ranging in the upper 20s to lower 30s across much of the region will fall into the single digits and teens by Friday night.
SATURDAY
Arctic high pressure builds in producing mostly sunny skies. Low temperatures will range from the single digits below zero to lower 10s over the interior and lower to mid-10s along the coast with high temperatures in the upper 10s to lower 20s over much of the region.
SUNDAY
An area of low pressure will approach from the west bringing increased cloud cover during the day and scattered rain and snow showers later on. Low temperatures will range from the mid-10s to mid-20s across the region, with high temperatures ranging in the 30s for most.
