Light rain and wet snow showers will overspread the region into this evening as low-pressure approaches from the west. High pressure then returns through the mid-week, bringing mild temperatures and drier conditions ahead of a stronger storm system which will likely impact the region later this week and into next weekend.

TODAY

An area of low pressure will approach, thus increasing cloud cover throughout the day. Light rain and snow showers will begin overspreading the region from southwest to northeast later this evening.  Winds will back from the northwest to the southeast at 5 to 10 mph with high temperatures ranging from the mid-30s to the lower 40s.

TONIGHT

An area of low pressure will produce rain and snow showers. Snowfall is likely to the north and northwest of the I-95 corridor, with rain expected elsewhere. Temperatures will fall into the low to mid-30s with winds generally from the northeast at 5 to 10 mph.

TOMORROW

An area of low pressure will exit the region. Rain and snow showers in the morning will give way to clearing skies in the afternoon.  Snow accumulations of a trace to 2″ is possible on cold or untreated surfaces along the I-95 corridor, a trace to 1″ north and west of the I-95 corridor, and no accumulation south and east of the I-95 corridor.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 30s in the Pocono and Catskill regions, and low to mid-40s elsewhere. Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 10 mph.

TOMORROW NIGHT

Mainly clear skies and winds from the west-northwest at 5 to 10 mph. Temperatures will fall into the upper 20s to lower 30s.

TUESDAY

High pressure will produce mostly cloudy conditions and a northwest wind at 5 to 15 mph. Low temperatures will range from the mid to upper 20s with high temperatures in the lower to mid-40s over the interior and mid to upper 40s along the coast expected.

WEDNESDAY

High pressure will produce scattered cloud cover throughout the region.  Low temperatures will range from the upper 20s to the lower 30s. High temperatures should remain in the mid to upper 30s in the Pocono and Catskill regions, lower to mid-40s over the interior, and mid to upper 40s along the coast.

THURSDAY

A series of troughs will produce overcast skies with the potential for light rain and snow showers.  Low temperatures will generally range in the 30s across the region, with high temperatures reaching the upper 30s in the Pocono and Catskill regions, mid to upper 40s over the interior, and upper 40s to lower 50s along the coast.

FRIDAY

An approaching area of low pressure will produce increasing clouds and periods of rain. Low temperatures will range from the mid-30s to lower 40s over the interior and mid-40s to lower 50s along the coast. High temperatures in the upper 40s to lower 50s over the interior and mid to upper 50s along the coast are expected.

SATURDAY

An area of low pressure will produce periods of rain. Low temperatures will range from the upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior and low to mid-40s along the coast. Skies will likely begin to clear as the system evacuates with temperatures falling through the 50s, 40s, and 30s. At the moment, lower confidence exists in this particular system due to uncertainties associated with timing and other details.

SUNDAY

High pressure will begin building in, producing mostly sunny skies across the region. Expect low temperatures to range from the upper 10s to the lower 20s in the Pocono and Catskill regions, mid to upper 20s over the interior, and upper 20s to lower 30s along the coast. High temperatures in the upper 20s over the Pocono and Catskill regions, will likely range in the mid to upper 30s elsewhere.
