A powerful cold front today will mark a shift to a new, cooler weather pattern through the weekend and into next week.

TODAY

A strong cold front will move through the region with showers and thunderstorms in the morning and early afternoon.  The thunderstorms will be capable of heavy downpours, occasional lightning, and wind gusts over 40 mph.  Skies will clear towards evening.  Winds will veer from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph to the northwest at 10 to 20 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the mid-60s to lower 70s over the interior and mid-70s to lower 80s along the coast for highs.

TONIGHT

Skies will clear as the cold front exits the region.  Winds will be from the northwest at 10 to 20 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 40s over the interior and lower to mid-50s along the coast for lows.

TOMORROW 

High pressure will build into the region with clearing skies.  Winds will be from the northwest at 10 to 20 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 50s to lower 60s over the interior and lower to mid-60s along the coast for highs.

TOMORROW NIGHT

Clear skies to scattered clouds are expected.  Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the upper 30s to mid-40s over the interior and upper 40s to lower 50s along the coast for lows.

High pressure will be in control, with clear skies to scattered clouds.  Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 60s over the interior and upper 60s to lower 70s along the coast for highs.

A warm front will approach the region with increasing clouds in the morning and scattered showers in the afternoon and evening.  Temperatures will range from the upper 40s to lower 50s over the interior and lower to mid-50s along the coast for lows and lower to mid-70s over the interior, lower to mid-70s along the coast, and upper 70s to lower 80s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.
