Today will feel like an oasis compared to the rest of the week as hazy, hot, and humid weather conditions return.

TODAY

An area of low pressure will depart the region with lingering showers this morning, giving way to gradual clearing from west to east this afternoon and evening.  Winds will back from the northeast to the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 70s to lower 80s along the coast and lower to mid-80s away from the coast for highs.

TONIGHT

Scattered clouds are expected, with a few areas of fog possible in the morning hours.  Winds will back from the northwest to the southwest at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the upper 60s to lower 70s for lows.

TOMORROW 

A warm front will lift through the region with scattered clouds and isolated thunderstorms.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 80s over the interior and along the coast and upper 80s to lower 90s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.  An increase in humidity will be noted.

TOMORROW NIGHT

Scattered clouds with areas of patchy fog can be expected.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the lower to mid-60s over the interior and upper 60s to lower 70s along the coast for lows.

WEDNESDAY

Scattered clouds are expected, with a few isolated thunderstorms threatening in the afternoon and early evening.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 80s to lower 90s for highs with a heat index in the mid to upper 90s.

THURSDAY

Hazy, hot, and humid conditions are expected, with fog in the morning and isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon and early evening.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-70s for lows and mid to upper 80s on Long Island, upper 80s to lower 90s along the coast, and mid to upper 90s away from the coast.  A heat index in the upper 90s to lower 100s will be possible.

A cold front will approach the region with increasing clouds followed by scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening hours.  Temperatures will range from the mid to upper 70s for lows and mid to upper 80s on Long Island, upper 80s to lower 90s along the coast, and lower to mid-90s away from the coast for highs.  A heat index in the mid to upper 90s will be possible.

The cold front will sink through the region with scattered showers and thunderstorms.  Temperatures will range from the upper 60s to lower 70s over the interior and lower to mid-70s along the coast for lows and upper 70s to lower 80s over the interior, lower to mid-80s along the coast, and mid-80s to lower 90s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.
