A heat advisory is in effect for most regions with a heat index rising into the mid-100s. More heat and humidity and isolated thunderstorms are expected into the weekend.

TODAY

A weak trough will linger over the region with fog in the morning followed by scattered clouds with isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-90s for highs with a heat index in the mid-90s to mid-100s.

TONIGHT

Scattered clouds with some areas of fog are expected.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the lower to mid-70s over the interior and mid-70s to lower 80s along the coast for lows.

TOMORROW 

A weak cold front will continue to linger with fog in the morning, followed by scattered clouds with isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  The temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 80s along the coast, upper 80s to lower 90s over the interior, and lower to mid-90s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.  A heat index in the mid-90s to mid-100s will be a threat.

TOMORROW NIGHT

Scattered clouds with some areas of fog are expected.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 60s over the interior and upper 60s to lower 70s along the coast for lows.

FRIDAY

A cold front will move through the region with scattered clouds, isolated showers, and thunderstorms.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 80s along the coast, upper 80s to lower 90s over the interior, and lower to mid-90s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.  A heat index in the mid-90s to mid-100s is expected.

SATURDAY

High pressure will produce clear skies to scattered cloud cover with hazy conditions.  Temperatures will range from the upper 60s to lower 70s over the interior and mid to upper 70s along the coast for lows and upper 80s to lower 90s along the coast, lower to mid-90s over the interior, and mid to upper 90s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.  A heat index in the upper 90s to mid-100s is expected.

SUNDAY

A weak trough will linger around the region with fog in the morning and scattered clouds with isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-70s for lows and upper 80s to lower 90s along the coast and mid to upper 90s elsewhere for highs.

MONDAY

A cold front will approach the region with increasing clouds and evening thunderstorms.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-70s over the interior and upper 70s to lower 80s along the coast for lows and upper 80s to lower 90s along the coast and mid to upper 90s away from the coast for highs.

TUESDAY

A cold front will slowly move through the region with waves of showers and thunderstorms.  Temperatures will range from the upper 60s to lower 70s over the interior and lower to mid-70s along the coast for lows and lower to mid-80s for highs.

WEDNESDAY

A cold front will stall over the region with scattered clouds, isolated thunderstorms over the northern interior, New York City metropolitan areas, and scattered showers and thunderstorms over southeastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey.  Temperatures will range from the mid to upper 60s over the interior and upper 60s to lower 70s along the coast for lows and lower to mid-80s over the interior and mid to upper 80s along the coast for highs.
