Episodes of showers and thunderstorms amidst plentiful heat and humidity will continue throughout the week.
TODAY
Abundant moisture and increasing cloud cover may give way to an isolated afternoon shower or thunderstorm. Winds light and variable. Temperatures will rise into the upper 80s in the Delaware River Valley, with low-mid 80s for the interior and along the coast.
TONIGHT
Increasing chance for showers and thunderstorms in addition to the probability for locally heavy rainfall. Low temperatures will fall into the lower to mid 70s across the entire region.
TOMORROW
A trough passes just to the north, bringing widespread showers and thunderstorms. Localized heavy rainfall is possible and a few cells may be severe. High temperatures in the low-mid 80s are expected, with upper 80s to lower 90s in the Delaware River Valley.
TOMORROW NIGHT
Showers and thunderstorms continue early on. Activity tapers off with a cold front that progresses eastward, temporarily stabilizing the airmass. Temperatures will fall into the upper 60s to lower 70s.
TUESDAY
The moisture rich airmass continues to hang over the region, however precipitation chances greatly decrease and sunshine increases throughout the day. Low temperatures will range from the upper 60s to lower 70s over the interior and lower to mid-70s along the coast. High temperatures will reach the mid-upper 80s along the coast, upper 80s to lower 90s over the interior, and lower to mid-90s in the Delaware River Valley.
WEDNESDAY
Hot and humid. Clouds in the morning will give way to generally clear but hazy skies. An isolated shower or thunderstorm is possible primarily in the northern portions of the region. Low temperatures will hang around the lower to mid-70s, with high temperatures potentially dangerous for some. Expect temperatures in the upper 80s for both the interior and coast, and low to mid-90s for the Delaware River Valley.
THURSDAY
Just as hot despite the potential arrival of a cold front, which will likely cause isolated showers and thunderstorms to the north. Low temperatures will range from the mid to upper 70s over the interior and upper 70s to lower 80s along the coast. High temperatures in the mid to upper 80s along the coast, upper 80s to lower 90s over the interior, and lower to mid-90s in the Delaware River Valley are expected.
FRIDAY
Mostly sunny and hot. Similarly, a weaker cold front may pass to the north later in the day bringing a possible shower or thunderstorm. Otherwise drier, with low temperatures in the low to mid-60s for the upper interior, upper 60s to lower 70s for the Delaware River Valley and along the coast. High temperatures should yet again reach the upper 80s for much of the interior, low to mid-80s along the coast, and upper 80s to lower 90s in the Delaware River Valley.
SATURDAY AND SUNDAY
Hot and sunny conditions again on Saturday, with increasing cloud cover and a stray shower or thunderstorm possible. High temperatures along the coast and interior will rise into the mid to upper 80s, with low to mid-90s in the Delaware River Valley. Overnight temperatures will be slightly cooler with upper 50s in the Poconos and Catskills, low to mid-60s for rest of the interior, and mid-70s in the Delaware River Valley and along the coast. Sunday remains hot but overcast. Look for high temperatures in the low to mid-80s along and coast and interior, and upper 80s to lower 90s for the Delaware River Valley.
