The highest threat for thunderstorms is expected tomorrow for the Fourth Of July weekend.  An active weather pattern is expected through next week.

TODAY

A cold front will approach the region with scattered cloud cover and isolated to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.  The thunderstorms will be capable of brief heavy downpours, occasional lightning, and wind gusts over 40 mph.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-80s along the coast and upper 80s to lower 90s away from the coast for highs.

TONIGHT

The cold front will continue to sink towards the region with scattered to broken cloud cover along with some areas of patchy fog.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 60s over the interior and lower to mid-70s along the coast for lows.

TOMORROW 

The cold front will move through the region with areas of fog in the morning giving way to scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.  A few thunderstorms may reach severe levels with heavy downpours, frequent lightning, hail, and wind gusts over 60 mph.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 70s to lower 80s for highs with humid conditions.

TOMORROW NIGHT

The cold front will stall off the coast with scattered cloud cover and isolated showers.  Winds will be from the west at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the lower to mid-60s over the interior and mid to upper-60s along the coast for lows.

SUNDAY

The cold front will stall over the coastal waters with scattered cloud cover along with isolated showers and thunderstorms.  Winds will be from the west at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-80s over the interior, mid to upper 80s along the coast, and upper 80s to lower 90s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.

MONDAY (4th of July)

The cold front will remain stalled over the coastal waters with scattered clouds along with isolated to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms.  Temperatures will range from the upper 50s to lower 60s over the interior and lower to mid-60s along the coast for lows and lower to mid-80s along the coast, mid to upper 80s over the interior, and upper 80s to lower 90s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.

TUESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY

A series of troughs and cold fronts will pass through the region with scattered cloud cover and isolated showers and thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon.  Humid conditions can be expected throughout the week.  Temperatures on Tuesday will range from the lower to mid-70s for lows and lower to mid-80s along the coast, mid to upper 80s over the interior, and upper 80s to lower 90s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.  Temperatures on Wednesday will range from the mid to upper 60s over the interior and lower to mid-70s along the coast for lows and mid to upper 70s on Long Island, lower to mid-80s along the coast, lower to mid-80s over the interior, and upper 80s to lower 90s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.  Temperatures on Thursday will range from the mid-60s to lower 70s for lows and upper 70s to lower 80s along the coast, lower to mid-80s over the interior, and mid to upper 80s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.  Temperatures on Friday will range from the mid to upper 60s for lows and lower to mid-70s along the coast and mid to upper 70s away from the coast for highs.
