Perfect weather will be in place for Father’s Day but a clash of air masses will develop for next week with a wide range of temperatures and rainfall.

TODAY

High pressure will produce clear skies to scattered clouds.  Winds will be from the northwest at 10 to 20 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 60s over the interior, upper 60s to lower 70s along the coast, and lower to mid-70s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.

TONIGHT

Clear skies to scattered cloud cover are expected.  Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 40s over the interior and lower to mid-50s along the coast for lows.

TOMORROW 

High pressure will exit with increasing cloud cover.  Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-70s over the interior and upper 70s to lower 80s along the coast for highs.

TOMORROW NIGHT

A warm front will approach with increasing clouds and scattered showers in the morning.  Winds back to the west at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the upper 50s to lower 60s for lows.

TUESDAY

A warm front will approach the region with scattered to widespread showers, heavy at times.  Winds will back to the south at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 60s to mid-70s along the coast and upper 70s to lower 80s away from the coast for highs.

WEDNESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY

The warm front will stall over the region with variable clouds and scattered showers.  Temperatures through the period will range from the lower to mid-60s in the New York City metropolitan area and interior and upper 60s to lower 70s in the Philadelphia metropolitan areas for lows and lower to mid-70s in Connecticut and Long Island, upper 70s to mid-80s along the coast, mid to upper 80s over the interior, and upper 80s to lower 90s in the Delaware River Valley.  The location of the stationary front throughout the period will be a key factor in the range of temperatures.

FRIDAY

A cold front will move through the region with scattered showers and thunderstorms.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-60s over the interior and upper 60s to lower 70s along the coast for lows and mid to upper 70s along the coast and upper 70s to lower 80s away from the coast for highs.

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY

A cold front will stall over the region with variable clouds and scattered showers.  Temperatures on Saturday will range from the mid to upper 60s for lows and lower to mid-70s for highs.  Temperatures on Sunday will range from the upper 60s to lower 70 for lows and mid to upper 70s for highs.
