Excellent weather will be in place for the rest of the holiday weekend, but a volatile week of weather is on the way with tropical conditions and maritime air masses.

TODAY

Scattered clouds are expected.  Winds will be light and variable.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-70s along the coast, mid to upper 70s over the interior, and upper 70s to lower 80s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.

TONIGHT

Scattered clouds can be expected.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the upper 50s to lower 60s for lows.

TOMORROW

High pressure will build into the region with scattered cloud cover.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the mid-70s to lower 80s along the coast, lower to mid-80s over the interior, and mid to upper 80s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.

TOMORROW NIGHT

Scattered clouds can be expected with areas of fog developing after midnight for some locations.  The fog may be locally dense with visibility below a mile.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 60s for lows.

TUESDAY

High pressure will produce clear skies to scattered cloud cover after the fog burns off.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 80s along the coast and upper 80s to lower 90s away from the coast for highs.  A heat index in the mid to upper 90s is expected.

WEDNESDAY

A back-door cold front will approach the region and then stall between New York City and Philadelphia in the afternoon with areas of fog in the morning followed by scattered to broken cloud cover and isolated showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.  Temperatures will range from the mid to upper 60s for lows and upper 60s to mid-70s over Connecticut and Long Island, mid-70s to lower 80s in the Hudson River Valley, northeastern New Jersey, New York City, and central New Jersey, and mid-80s to lower 90s over western New Jersey, southern New Jersey, and eastern Pennsylvania.

THURSDAY THROUGH FRIDAY

A stalling back-door cold front will produce scattered to broken cloud cover with isolated to scattered showers throughout the region.  Temperatures on Thursday will range from the mid-50s to lower 60s for lows and mid to upper 60s along the coast, upper 60s to lower 70s over the interior, and lower to mid-70s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.  Temperatures on Friday will range from the upper 50s to lower 60s over the interior and mid to upper 60s along the coast for lows and lower to mid-70s over the interior and upper 70s to lower 80s along the coast for highs.

SATURDAY

A trough will linger over the region with scattered clouds and isolated showers.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-50s for lows and upper 60s to lower 70s along the coast, lower to mid-70s over the interior, and mid to upper 70s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.

SUNDAY

A weak trough will produce scattered clouds and isolated showers.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-50s for lows and upper 60s to lower 70s along the coast, lower to mid-70s over the interior, and mid to upper 70s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.
