A cool, but sunny start to the week will give way to warmer but wetter weather conditions through next weekend.

TODAY

High pressure will produce clear skies with scattered cloud cover.  Winds will be from the west at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-50s along the coast and upper 50s to lower 60s away from the coast for highs.

TONIGHT

High pressure will exit the region with increasing cloud cover.  Winds will back to the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the lower to mid-40s for lows.

TOMORROW

A warm front will lift through the region with scattered clouds and isolated showers to widely scattered showers.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 60s over the interior, upper 60s to lower 70s along the coast, and lower to mid-70s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.

WEDNESDAY

A stationary frontal boundary with a wave of low pressure will produce scattered cloud cover and isolated showers.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-40s over the interior and mid to upper 40s along the coast for lows and lower to mid-60s on Long Island, mid-60s to lower 70s along the coast, upper 60s to mid-70s over the interior, and mid-70s to lower 80s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.

THURSDAY

A cold front will approach the region in the afternoon and evening with widespread showers and isolated thunderstorms.  Temperatures will range from the mid-50s to lower 60s for lows and upper 60s to mid-70s along the coast and mid-70s to lower 80s away from the coast for highs.

FRIDAY

High pressure will produce clear skies with scattered clouds.  Temperatures will range from the upper 30s to mid-40s over the interior and upper 40s to lower 50s along the coast for lows and lower to mid-60s along the coast, mid to upper 60s over the interior, and upper 60s to lower 70s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY

A series of weak troughs will pass through the region with scattered clouds and isolated showers.  Temperatures on Saturday will range from the mid-40s to lower 50s for lows and lower to mid-60s over the interior, mid to upper 60s along the coast, and upper 60s to lower 70s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.  Temperatures on Sunday will range from the lower to mid-30s over the interior and upper 30s to mid-40s along the coast for lows and upper 40s to lower 50s over the interior and mid to upper 50s along the coast for highs.

MONDAY

An area of low pressure will produce periods of rain throughout much of the region, heavy at times.  A wintry mix of snow, sleet, and rain will be possible for elevations above 1,000 feet in the Hudson Highlands, Catskills, and Poconos.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-30s over the interior to the upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast for lows and mid to upper 30s over the interior and lower to mid-40s along the coast for highs.
