After a few rain showers, clear skies and well above normal temperatures are expected this afternoon.  Winter returns by Friday morning with the threat of a wintry mix of snow, sleet, and rain.

TODAY

A cold front will move through the region with lingering showers in the morning followed by clearing skies this afternoon.  Winds will be from the west at 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph at times.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-50s over the interior, upper 50s to mid-60s along the coast, and mid to upper 60s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.

TOMORROW

Scattered to broken clouds can be expected with a wintry mix of snow, sleet, and rain developing towards midnight.  Winds will be from the northeast at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will range from the upper 10s over the interior to the lower 30s along the coast for lows and upper 20s to lower 30s over the interior to the mid to upper 30s along the coast for highs.

FRIDAY

An area of low pressure will lift to the northwest of the region with a wintry mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain northwest of the I-95 corridor, snow mixing over to rain along the I-95 corridor, and rain south and southeast of the I-95 corridor.  Ice and snow accumulation will be a high threat for locations northwest of the major cities.  Winds will be from the east at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will range from the mid-20s over the interior to the mid-30s along the coast for lows and upper 30s over the interior to the upper 40s along the coast for highs.

SATURDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY

High pressure will be in control with clear skies to scattered clouds.  Temperatures on Saturday will range from the lower 10s over the interior to the lower 20s along the coast for lows and mid to upper 30s for highs.  Temperatures on Sunday will range from the mid-10s over the interior to the mid-20s along the coast for lows and mid-30s over the interior to the mid-40s along the coast for highs.  Temperatures on Monday will range from the lower 10s over the interior to the mid-20s along the coast for lows and lower 20s over the interior to the mid-30s along the coast for highs.  Temperatures on Tuesday will range from the lower 20s over the interior to the upper 20s along the coast for lows and upper 30s over the interior to the mid-50s along the coast for highs.  Temperatures on Wednesday will range from the mid-30s to lower 40s for lows and upper 40s to lower 50s over the interior and mid-50s to lower 60s along the coast for highs.
