A relatively calm week is expected before things turn interesting towards the end of the week. High-pressure will be in control most of the week. Temperatures will remain seasonably cold before another reinforcing shot of cold air comes by the weekend.
Sunday: An area of high-pressure moves into the region today and will bring clear to partly cloudy skies and dry conditions. Highs will range from the upper-10s to mid-20s. Winds will be from the southwest at 5-10 mph. Lows will drop into the upper single digits to mid teens for the interior and upper-10s to mid-20s for the coast.

Wednesday: Mostly clear conditions early will give way to increasing clouds as a cold front approaches from the west. Temperatures will remain in the 30s overnight.
Thursday: An area of low-pressure will form along a cold front and make its way into our region, bringing scattered rain showers for most of the area. Rain may change to a mixture of sleet and freezing rain late overnight for our far northern regions. Highs will range from the low-30s to near 40 for the interior while the coast ranges from the upper-30s to mid-40s. Winds will be from the south at 5-10 mph. Temperatures will crash overnight, allowing for lows to fall through the 40s, 30s, and 20s.
Friday: With temperatures crashing as the system pulls away, rain will change to sleet and freezing rain for southern areas while the interior changes to snow for a brief time. Temperatures will fall into the 20s and 10s throughout the day. Some flash freezing could occur from standing puddles. Winds will be from the northwest at 10-15 mph. Lows will drop into the low single digits to near 10 for the interior while the coast ranges from the low-10s to near 20.
Weekend: High-pressure will move in behind the system and give us clear to partly cloudy skies and dry conditions. Temperatures will remain cold with highs ranging from the low-10s to near 20.
