Arctic blasts will bookend the new week with the threat of snow showers and dangerous windchills.  A threat for a winter storm lingers for next weekend.

TODAY

Scattered clouds with a few flurries and snow showers will be a threat this afternoon.  Winds will be from the northwest at 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph at times.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-20s over the interior and upper 20s to lower 30s along the coact for highs.  A wind chill in the single digits to the teens will be a threat.

 

TONIGHT

Scattered clouds with snow flurries, snow showers, and possibly a snow squall will continue to linger through tomorrow morning.  Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the single digits below zero to lower 10s over the interior and lower to mid-10s along the coast for lows.

TOMORROW

Scattered clouds with flurries and a few lake-effect snow showers, especially in the Poconos and Catskills, can be expected.  Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-10s over the interior and mid-10s to lower 20s along the coast for highs.

WEDNESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY

High pressure will produce clear skies to scattered cloud cover.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures on Wednesday will range from the lower to mid-10s over the interior and mid to upper 10s along the coast for lows and mid to upper 30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast for highs.  Temperatures on Thursday will range from the upper 10s to the lower 20s over the interior and mid to upper 20s along the coast for lows and upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior and lower to mid-40s along the coast for highs.

FRIDAY

An area of low pressure off the coast will produce isolated to widely scattered snow showers with otherwise scattered cloud cover.  Temperatures will range from the upper 10s to mid-20s over the interior and upper 20s to lower 30s along the coast for lows and lower to mid-20s over the interior and upper 20s to mid-30s along the coast for highs.

SATURDAY

High pressure will produce scattered clouds.  Temperatures will range from the single digits below zero to the lower 10s for lows and lower to mid-10s over the interior and upper 10s to mid-20s along the coast for highs.

SUNDAY

An area of low pressure will produce scattered snow showers and potentially steadier snowfall along the coast.  Temperatures will range from the single digits to lower 10s over the interior and mid to upper 10s along the coast for lows and lower to mid-20s over the interior and mid-20s to lower 30s along the coast for highs.

MONDAY

High pressure will produce clear and cold conditions.  Temperatures will range from the single digits to lower 10s over the interior and mid to upper 10s along the coast for lows and lower to mid-20s over the interior and upper 20s to lower 30s along the coast for highs.
