Tropical Storm Henri will dump impressive amounts of rainfall and present flash flooding concerns this week. Once it pulls away, a Bermuda high will begin to set up and usher in more summer-like conditions to finish out the week.

Sunday: A wet and dreary day is ahead as the region continues to be affected by Tropical Storm Henri. Steady rain can be expected for northern and eastern locations while elsewhere remains more spotty. Rain will be heavy at times, causing the potential for flash flooding. Temperatures will rise into the low to upper 70s. Winds will be from the NW at 10-15 mph with gusts ranging from 20-40 mph. Overnight lows will drop into the upper 60s and low 70s.

Monday: Lasting effects from the remnants of Henri will begin to pull away today. Steady rain and gusty winds are expected for northern locations and into the mountains. Some showers are possible for the southern locations. Rain may be heavy at times, creating flash flooding conditions. Temperatures will rise into the low to upper 70s for northern locations, while southern locations range from the low to mid-80s. Winds will be from the W at 10-15 mph with gusts ranging from 20-40 mph. Overnight lows will dip into the mid-60s to low 70s. Some mountain locations could fall into the low 60s.

Tuesday: Skies will clear out as Henri exits the region. A spotty shower can’t be ruled out as we are in a tropical air mass. Temperatures will rise from the low 80s to the upper 80s. Winds will be from the W at 5-10 mph. Overnight lows will drop into the low 60s to near 70.

Wednesday: A hot and humid day is expected as SW flow returns. Partly cloudy skies are expected but a stray afternoon shower can not be ruled out. Temperatures will reach into the mid-80s to low 90s. Winds will be from the SW at 5-10 mph. Overnight lows will drop into the upper 60s to mid-70s.

Thursday: Another hot and humid day is on tap as a Bermuda high set us up with SW flow. Partly cloudy skies are expected but a stray afternoon shower can not be ruled out. Highs will range from the mid-80s to the low 90s. Winds will be from the SW at 5-10 mph. Overnight lows will dip into the mid-60s to low 70s.

Friday: Hot conditions continue today as temperatures rise into the mid-80s to low 90s. Partly cloudy skies are expected but a stray afternoon thunderstorm can’t be ruled out. Winds will be from the W at 5-10 mph. Overnight lows will drop into the mid-60s to low 70s.

Weekend: A slightly more comfortable weekend is on tap with intervals of clouds and sun. A stray afternoon thunderstorm can’t be ruled out. Temperatures will range from the low to upper 80s for highs. Winds will be from the E at 5-10 mph. Overnight lows will range from the mid-60s to the low 70s.
