After waves of rainfall this morning along the coast, an unsettled weather pattern will remain through the Fourth of July weekend with a threat for pesky showers each afternoon and below normal temperatures.

A cold front with waves of low pressure will continue to slowly sink south through the region today with waves of showers and thunderstorms through the morning.  Scattered to broken cloud cover with isolated showers will linger in the afternoon and evening.  Winds will veer to the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-70s over the interior and mid to upper 70s along the coast for highs.

The cold front will stall off the coast with waves of low-pressure tonight through Sunday with scattered to broken cloud cover and isolated to widely scattered showers in the afternoon and early evening.  The showers will be capable of brief heavy downpours at times.  Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures tomorrow will range from the upper 50s to mid-60s for lows and upper 60s to lower 70s along the coast, lower to mid-70s over the interior, and mid to upper 70s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.  Temperatures on Sunday will range from the mid-50s to lower 60s for lows and upper 60s to mid-70s along the coast and mid to upper 70s away from the coast highs.

A trough will linger around the region on Monday with scattered clouds and isolated showers in the afternoon.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-60s for lows and mid to upper 70s along the coast and lower to mid-80s away from the coast for highs.

A warm front will lift through the region on Tuesday and Wednesday with scattered to broken cloud cover and isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon.  A significant increase in humidity will be experienced.  Temperatures on Tuesday will range from the upper 60s to lower 70s for lows and lower to mid-80s along the coast and mid-80s to lower 90s away from the coast for highs.  Temperatures on Wednesday will range from the upper 60s to mid-70s for lows and mid-80s to lower 90s along the coast and lower to mid-90s away from the coast for highs.  A heat index in the mid to upper 90s is a threat for this period in the afternoon hours.

A strong cold front will slowly drop through the region Thursday and Friday with waves of showers thunderstorms.  A few thunderstorms may reach severe levels.  Temperatures on Thursday will range from the mid-60s to lower 70s over the interior and lower to mid-70s along the coast for lows and lower to mid-70s over the interior and upper 70s to mid-80s along the coast for highs.  Temperatures on Friday will range from the mid-60s to lower 70s over the interior and lower to mid-70s along the coast for lows and mid to upper 70s over the interior and upper 70s to lower 80s along the coast for highs.
