Tranquil conditions will be in place through this weekend, but a powerful rainstorm is on the way for the start of next week.

High pressure will produce clear skies to scattered clouds today through Sunday.  Winds will back from the west to southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures today will rise into the upper 40s to lower 50s over the interior and mid to upper 50s along the coast.  Temperatures tomorrow will range from the mid-30s to lower 40s for lows and mid-40s to lower 50s over the interior and lower to mid-50s along the coast for highs.  Temperatures on Sunday will range from the upper 20s to mid-30s over the interior and mid to upper 30s along the coast for lows and mid-40s to lower 50s for highs.

An area of low pressure will produce periods of rain, heavy at times in the late morning through evening hours on Monday.  Windy conditions can be expected with temperatures ranging from the upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior and mid to upper 40s along the coast for lows and mid-50s to lower 60s for highs.

The area of low pressure will slowly exit on Tuesday with scattered to broken cloud cover and isolated to widely scattered rain and snow showers.  Temperatures will fall through the 50s, 40s, and 30s through the day.

High pressure will be in control Wednesday through Friday with scattered cloud cover.  A few flurries or snow showers will be a threat for the Poconos and Catskills at times.  Temperatures on Wednesday will range from the upper 20s to mid-30s for lows and mid-30s to lower 40s for highs.  Temperatures on Thursday will range from the mid-20s to lower 30s for lows and upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior and mid to upper 40s along the coast for highs.  Temperatures on Friday will range from the upper 20s to mid-30s for lows and lower to mid-40s for highs.
