Tranquil weather conditions will be in place today, but a storm developing to the south will bring the threat for heavy rain, especially along the coast, tomorrow on through Saturday morning.

After low clouds and fog lift this morning, scattered cloud cover to clear skies can be expected this afternoon.  An isolated shower is possible.  Winds will be from the southeast at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 70s to mid-80s along the coast and upper 80s to lower 90s elsewhere for highs.

An area of low pressure will approach from the south with increasing clouds and showers towards the morning.  Winds will veer to the east at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the upper 60s to mid-70s for lows.

The area of low pressure will move through the coastal waters tomorrow afternoon on through Saturday morning with periods of rain, heavy at times, along the coast.  Widely scattered showers capable of brief heavy downpours can be expected further inland.  Rainfall amounts along the coast will range from 1″ to 3″ while rainfall amounts away from the coast will range from 0.25″ to 1.25″.  Winds will back from the east to northeast at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures tomorrow will rise into the upper 70s to mid-80s for highs.

The low-pressure system will exit on Saturday afternoon with a few lingering showers.  A cold front will follow in the evening with widely scattered showers and thunderstorms.  Winds will back to the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Humid conditions can be expected.  Temperatures on Saturday will range from the upper 60s to mid-70s for lows and mid to upper 80s along the coast and upper 80s to mid-90s elsewhere for highs.

A weak trough will pass through the region on Sunday with a few isolated to widely scattered showers in the morning.  Otherwise, scattered cloud cover can be expected.  Temperatures on Sunday will range from the upper 60s to lower 70s for lows and mid-80s to lower 90s for highs.

A series of weak troughs will linger over the region Monday through Wednesday with areas of fog and low clouds in the morning giving way to scattered to broken cloud cover in the afternoon along with isolated showers and thunderstorms.  Temperatures through the period will range from the upper 60s to lower 70s for lows and lower to mid-80s along the coast and upper 80s to mid-90s elsewhere for highs with humid conditions.
